I agree completely that it's on the higher authority. The same stuff such as "jail bird" was chanted at him in the regional title game. At some point you would think that somebody who works at the school would have went and told the student section to stop certain chants last night, but they allowed them to continue.

Corbin is Corbin and Clay is Clay...They don't like us and we don't like them, but I love the rivalry...These are kids being kids, a little tasteless, but we've all done things when we were young. Not that big of a deal...Tre responded with the apprpriate performance on the court. Let it Go.

Couldn't have been said better Count.

I love this rivalry! A good healthy rivalry is good and brings the competitiveness out of coachs, players, and fans.

I agree we all have did things when we were young...but for me it stopped when the game ended....no matter who won or lost.....If it would have been a Clay County student that posted that garbage online about a Corbin player...I can almost guarantee that someone from Corbin would be calling Clay Countys administration wanting some type of discipline for the student...

Ur turning a mole hill into a mountain. Exactly what's wrong with this world . Way too many liberals worrying about someone getting there feelings hurt. If Tre can handle it then no one else should worry about it.

I had my fun while in high school, probably more school spirit than anybody to come through the school in 15 years. A strong student body for athletics makes a difference, especially when they turn out and have creative cheers. I am by no mean liberal, but there is a line to cross. It's one thing to say something to someone, it's other to do so across social media. Trey played well and handled it like a pro, the picture was posted after the game. I may ruffle some feathers but Corbin and South Laurel are notorious for "crossing the line" on school spirit. "Who's your daddy?" is a lot different than "Where's your daddy?", "Jailbait." or something along those lines.

I think every player Clay put on the floor last night played well and did exactly what each needed to do in order for Clay to get the win. IMO Sexton, Sam's and Wolfe where just as important in this win as Smith, Farmer and House. Sam's only scored 2 pts but his defense in the first half on taylor was outstanding. Sexton was huge down the stretch making free throws. And Wolfe had crucial baskets and rebounds when Corbin was making there run. I will say this Corbin's shut down defender. the same kid that held Braxton Beverly to 16 pts , Smith drops 28 on him. This kid is really gonna be something special.

The quickest way to shut up Corbins student section is to beat them.
Clay done that.

In all fairness, the Corbin students chanting "Where's your daddy" and "Jailbird" to Farmer was in pretty bad taste. However, the Clay County students holding up the sign that said "You don't like us because we're black" was in equally bad taste.

Kids love doing things in bad taste to see if they can shock us old fogies. Wish they would reel it in sometimes, but I understand. I remember once when my daughter was in school when the North-South rivalry was really hot, the student section printed up t-shirts that said 'Cuck Fards'. I wouldn't let her have one, thought that was too much, but you know, teenagers.
Anyway, although I don't know the kid, I have to say I have a lot of respect for Farmer, because you know he has to take a lot of crap from a situation he had nothing to do with, and he just shows up cool as can be and plays. And usually beats your ass. In my book, that's how you handle your business, so props to him.

Too many people telling us what we CAN'T do anymore...Let the kids be kids...Ur right Farmer handled it the right way, on the court...Mods close this thread it's dead and stinking.

Was not there, only listened and saw social media. If so, both parties over the line.

How could you put Knox behind Clay and Corbin? They beat Clay at Clay and Corbin at Corbin last year. They return all starters but currently without Adams who had knee surgery. However, with the new coach they play faster and fits their personnel much better. Marsee has lost 40 pounds and looks better than ever. Barger will get his 15-20+ along with Hensley and I look for Cole to be more of a scoring threat this year because he is very capable

Hey Steve in case u didn't notice Clay won the region last year, not Knox. And Knox basically got ran out of the gym all summer. Henry Clay made them look like a JV team. Now I do expect them to improve and learn the new coaches system better as the season goes on. And I do believe they will contend come March but until they start bringing some hardware home they are still gonna be considered unproven. If you can't win come march December thru February doesn't matter
