I think desales wins, but i dont think i would say they are the strongest 2a team the last 2 years. I think desales was better last year.

This stuff is good man! Listen, say what you want. I've had a chance to watch a little film and I say they watch up well. Desales will present no issues that NCC hasn't seen all year. Physically , they aren't as imposing as any of the Nky teams NCC has faced. In fact, i think NCC will be a little quicker on the oline side than Desales has faced all year. 91 gets his panties all bunched up in a wad when he knows he's wrong and someone calls him out. I'll pm him so we can smoke some of this stuff in a piece pipe.

Id say Warren Central, and Bardstown are both quicker than NCC.

Food for thought. Colt has talked all year about how Mayfield can't win in 2a. They better win against NCC or that is totally disproved. This because NCC lost by 17 to Beechwood in the last regular season game. Mayfield completed a 5 hour bus drive and beat that Beechwood team by 11.
12-04-2014, 03:23 AM
Of course, I wouldn't expect you to say no team could possibly be quicker/faster than anyone you've already played on your schedule. All Im saying is don't dismiss their ability. They are a little better than their record shows. I respect what Desales has done the last two years, it's just ironic how people dismiss this team when the current seniors have been apart of 3 straight final appearances.

The Buffalo Bills managed to make it to 4 straight Super Bowls but, were only close in 1. Were you paying them compliments afterward?

Memory loss is strong in this guy. 3 out of the last 4 state championship Breds teams lost to Beechwood in regular season and then won it all 2 of those were with Mayfield in the same class. That score means nothing but local bragging rights.

They won in 2012 so it isn't a similar comparison.

Yall sure didnt mind comparing scores last year when mayfield fell to caldwell. I remember some chatter how that proves mayfield couldnt win 2a especially after caldwell exited. If it was fine to compare scores then why not now that beechwood beat ncc, and mayfield beat beechwood.

Again, who cares about Beechwood, Mayfield or Caldwell. Take it to another thread. We're here to talk about the Newcath/Desales game.

Find anywhere where I have said they can't compete. I have said, and will continue to say that their road will be much tougher. There are just a couple of teams in 1A who have been able to compete. It will be more challenging in 2A.

I simply gave you my opinion. I've ever dismissed anything with NCC. Look elsewhere for motivation. I expect a good game. Turnovers will decide the outcome.

Now. Back to the subject at hand. Our boys have had a great week of practice. They know they are going up against a good back. I do think turnovers will be the key. We turned the ball over 3-4 times at Glasgow i believe. Had a big turnover against Murray also. We have to cut down on those or NCC will beat us.
No kidding, Mayfield was brought into the thread by a Mayfield fan, nobody cares about Mayfield outside of Graves County. People get sick of the shenanigans, make a counter point, and a Cardinal fan kicks his dog and types a response.
Anyway, NewCath has done a much better job in the past 3 weeks but dumb personal fouls and fumbles have been an issue. Hopefully the Breds play as clean as they have the past couple of weeks on both sides.

Killbilly, please go apesh!t lol. What a tool lol. Internet courage is at an all time high. Its been like this with the mayfield ppl since ive been on this site. I called them "ft. Thomas" west for a reason.
Now, i wear thongs shake so my panties are never in a bunch. Ur fooling urself. Im rooting for these ncc kids, but u need to take those biased glasses off and look at this game objectively. Im telling u right now, ncc will not score on this defense until very late and this game is over. Take a look at last years film and watch what desalles did to our offensive line. Our O tackles got abused. U factor in dave schneider, this can get ugly fast. Ncc has some good players, smith, enlsen, lawrence, wieland, gray, just not as many as desalles. Best of luck breds, but....49-7 desalles. I hope im wrong for the kids.

I don't think that it is in DeSales DNA to put up 49. If they put up that many, it will be either a result of 2 defensive TDs or they rushed for 500 yards. I hope neither happens.

I did brin Mayfield I. This in a way. My point wasn't that we were better. My point was that all year Colt has told us that we were crazy if we thought we were going to roll through 2a next year. If they are better than us, then they should certainly beat NCC after those results. Now sorry about that. I will, I promise be rooting for the Colts to make a repeat. I don't think there is any question that they will. I see the west bring light years ahead of the east in 2a as it is in 1a this year. NCC faithful see that as well they are just holding on to that sparkle of hope.
12-04-2014, 07:51 PM
I'm not kidding either Colt. I rooted for your bunch last year after Caldwell went down. I too played in maroon once upon a time. That was when I played 8th grade ball in Tx.

Little does anybody on this site the NCC parents are NOT holding on to a strand of hope, hell why should our boys make the trip to Bowling Green since everyone has already crowned DeSalles. Make no mistake about it when I say our boys are coming and they are ready, DeSalles better throw everything they have at them because they won't quit. And I wouldn't be looking for a shut nor a running clock either because I don't see that happening.
12-04-2014, 09:06 PM
I'm not seeing a shut out nor a running clock. I'm seeing a tough hard nosed game.
The weather could end up being a factor with the rain. That will take away from throwing the football as much.
If NCC has to run the football, that really plays to our strength. On offense, our qb Johnson will take off and run it, and has been pretty effective. Pirtle is just a big strong back who can pound it, but is a breakaway threat.
Our special teams have really been solid. Johnson is a fantastic kicker, and punter. He has a booming leg.
As far as my pick. I'm going with the repeat. We won't put up a whole lot of points. Thats not our game this year. We'll let the defense work things for us, and take our shots. Im looking at something around 24-14 Colts. Again the weather could play a big role in this game. Turnovers could spell the outcome.
