Final. Ashland started off the game with a 5-0 run fueled by emotion, as it was senior night at home for the Tomcats. Ashland built the lead to 18-4 as senior Adam Cannoy scored 10 points in that stretch. He finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds on the night. In the second quarter Ashland built their largest lead of the first half at 30-10, but Pikeville didn't quit as they sparked up an 8-0 run of their own to come within 30-18. They would not get any closer, however. On the next play Ashland's Robbie Wilcox converted a 3 point play to make the score 33-18 at the half. In the second half Ashland built their largest lead of the night at 45-24 and cruised from there to make the final score 57-37.

Congrats Tomcats and good luck in the upcoming tournament play.

The Panthers just struggle to put points on the scoreboard...they usually play good defense though which has kept them in some games and won some games this year for them. I wouldn't be surprised if the football team averages more points per game next year than the basketball team has this year. When is the East Ridge/Pikeville district game?

How did Drew McDavid and Matt Thomas do for Ashland?

I don't know their totals, but Drew McDavid had a nice game. I'm guessing he had between 15-20. Matt played well too, but he didn't attempt many shots. His first attempt came in the third quarter. The Tomcat seniors (Tyler Reliford, Brandon Williams, Adam Cannoy) all shot the ball more tonight.

Congrats Ashland

Drew was killer inside the paint all night long, when they decided to try to stop him he found ways to get a body on and foul plus one. All night long the duo of Drew and Brandon willams shot a dagger in painstville heart. Way to go boys keep it goin as tourney comes closer.

what have you been smokin buddy? You just talk about how good Mike Bartly is and how far he could have carried pikeville into the region and state. Pikeville is better off without him, he has a horrible attitude and thinks he michael jordan.

Do you think you can beat him in basketball? Your post spells jealousy.

He's really good, he was at the Y the other day, but I've heard his attitude brings him down. But usually your best players have attitude problems because their head gets filled up by too many different people. All they hear is how good they are so it makes you wonder what it would be like to be in their shoes and have to deal with it. Like Ryan Johnson, Matt Maynard, Mitchell Riddle this year and Seth Kiser last year.
