I will take Russell, that way they can get back to playing Belfry..

Should be a good one.

Colonels 28-14

Should be a great game. Haven't decided if I'm going to this one or Raceland next week. Leaning towards this one. I think Russell wins 28-22.

Isn't it bout time for Zack Morris to show up with his sick rhymes. Lol.

I'll take Russell 21-14. I have enjoyed our games with Bourbon the last two years, but if Belfry survives LC, I would like to see Russell roll into the Cam and get the rivalry renewed!

^ Agreed man. Rooting hard for the Devils.
I worry Hollman will go off though and carry Bourbon. No prediction from me.

Evils find a way to win.

Holman is not 100%, probably 60%. If bourbon wins it will be a team effort, and the defense will have to step up.

He is. I found that out after I posted.

Checked out Hollman on HUdl. He looks substantially thicker and a step slower than last season to me.

Russell with a late TD to win, and then a goal line stand at the end to hold on.

Big game Big night for the Devils at the Hank Friday night first regional title game since 2007. Don't know much about Bourban only from what I have read, but the fact remains the Devils are tuff at home in the playoffs. Russell's defense seems to be jelling at the perfect time young defensive coach josh wills has done an excellent job along with guidance from Gary Morris up in the booth in getting these players in positions to make plays. I'm sure TJ won't mess around with the pass early in this one. Russell will dance with what brought em, a powerful running attack. Once again I see the physical play of the Devils on offense being the differance. If Bourban can't slow Conley down on the ground it will be a long night in flatwoods for the colonels. The Devils defense is just cheeky enough to force a turnover or two late in the game to seal the deal! GREAT MOMENTS ARE BORN FROM GREAT OPPORTUNITY, DEVILS MARCH ON!

I actually think hes faster than last year. If you are watching clark, fleming, or garrard then he is laboring because of a hamstring injury...

Is this kid a one man show like Jones was from Estill? I knew early in that game that it would tale a bunch of big plays for them to win, and they didn't have that many in them. If it wasn't for Jones they would have been 3 and out every series. I don't know how they averaged 41 a game. Anyway, does anyone know what Bourbon tries to do on offence?

I haven't seen Bourbon much this year as prior years, but they have 2 pretty good RB's (Holman and Hill) and a solid QB. But I wouldn't say they rely on Holman, he didn't play the game I went to(Western Hills) and they still beat them 49-0. I'd say they are spread but the receivers aren't anywhere near last years caliber. Defense is pretty stout, weak secondary compared to last years.

He is a D1 running back (has an offer from Marshall). That being said he has run behind a depleted line all year, and now that the line is semi healthy, he is struggling with a hamstring injury.
He is the same back Russell faced last year in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

I see Russell putting in their freshman late in the forth in a manageable win for the devils.

This may be the most interesting game in the area come Friday. Bourbon is coming off an emotional win @ Garrard. It'll be interresting too see if the BC staff can refocus and recharge the Colonels for another tough road trip.
Too close to call

Tough one... I honestly don't have a good read on either team.
I think Bourbon has the superior playmakers, but Russell has the edge up front.
I see a scenario where this ends up a shootout...but I am going to say we see a different look:
Bourbon 22
Russell 20
May be an OT score... I think Bourbon's defense is starting to round into form and I think Russell will be content playing a grind it out game with a fast moving clock. Think it be hard to deny Mr. Holman and he comes through with a big play when it is needed.
No matter what..I think Russell has taken the step forward many hoped for this year and next year LOOK OUT! Even if it is not this year...I think it is safe to say the Russell vs. Belfry battle of the early 2000's is close to returning.

I said way back in the preseason that this Russell team was better then people think. The Bulldogs had a scrimmage game with em and even though we won that game pretty easily I could see flashes of what they could be and I don't think the Russell coach was showing everything he had. I think if Bourbon has gotten healthy they will have just a little to much speed and skill for the devil's, but this is high school playoffs and if the games like Paintsville and Pikeville are an indicator of how this weird season is going to finish out then anything can happen! I am pulling for the Devil's!
