Would any of the Tigers fans care to share Paintsville's stats from last night's game?
11-15-2014, 07:12 PM
The tigers are finally healthy..

I have to agree that I think this team is as good if not better than last years. Not as big, but faster, much faster, eapecially defensively.

Yea, bigger, isn't always better, Williamsburg showed that last year.

rams offensive lineman constantly hold and they are slow beyond line of scrimmage. paintsville also edges them in skill position, no doubt about messer but the rest are average.

You sure are good at coming up with excuses, and your knowledge of football is very questionable. Go spend some time with Talon and Clint and see if they can't teach you a thing or two about a thing or two.
As far as the game goes, yea, Paintsville may take the Rams to the woodshed, anything is possible.

All those average players started basketball season for Fairview last night. All those average players also shut out the so-called superior talented players that Paintsville has a few weeks ago. Granted this week will be a new game but I don't see Paintsville being able to handle the physicality of the Rams. As far as last night goes, why not just admit that the better team won instead of having sour grapes about it.

Raceland not average anywhere on the field, they put 11 very good football players out there at every position. Team speed is definitely above average for NEKY. Raceland and Ironton (OH) are best two teams in Ashland area.
Raceland 45
Paintsville 20

The smart money is always placed against the Cinderella team, but if Paintsville beats Raceland, it would not be nearly as big an upset as last night's win over Pikeville. Normally, there would be a danger of a letdown by the Tigers after such a big win, but having been shellacked by Raceland in the regular season, Paintsville will not fall into that trap.
Raceland 30
Paintsville 20
But hopefully, Paintsville's ride will not turn into a pumpkin.

Russell has far exceeded my expectations, T.J. has done a phenomenal job his first season.

Ashland grew alot from Russell beating them. TJ is a great coach and I would want nothing more than to see both Raceland and Russell in BG!!

And in that regaurd what kind of Party would it be i our area if we bith managed to bring back some hardware to Raceland, Worthington, Russell, and Flatwoods? Man id love to see that happen!

Raceland wins but it's going to be a close game. 28-24
11-15-2014, 11:30 PM
im sure you wont ever hear it, but id love to knowhow in the world Paintsville turned things on offensively. I know they got two big turnovers, one a Pick 6. But I just cant believe they managed to shut down an offense that put up 60 points on them early in the year. A 20 point turnaround? sure. A 30 point turnaround? seen it happen in many of the NCC/BW games when they were in the same district. then met in the playoffs. But this is astonishing. Raceland OBVIOUSLY better be prepared.

Why do you have to be such a DB?
11-16-2014, 12:29 AM
of course i would. Im baffled as to how the Paintsville team that Raceland dominated, only allowing their offense to around 100 yards, the same Paintsville team that only managed 59 yds on the ground in their blowout loss to Pikeville, managed to turn things around that much. now, that sounds harsh. But i am VERY glad they did so. Im guessing they did 1 of 2 things or both.
1. Got the Hendricks kid downfield and let Kash unload.
2. Used Hendricks, Belcher, Kash, and Trimble in a outside Zone read or Wildcat with Hendricks.
Either way, Im more stunned at the defensive effort they put foward.

You're about as bright as a burned out light bulb. Go play in a busy street!!:lmao:

We will get the film if we haven't already gotten it from Pileville.
11-16-2014, 06:25 AM
Tigers by 14. They will be looking for revenge. Rams will be caught looking ahead because they beat the Tigers so easy in the first game. This is a different Tiger team, players healthy, new kid getting more comfortable with the offense, and the coaching staff figuring out ways to get him in space = rams losing by 14+.

Just watched the film that is on Hudl from the game and Paintsville did a number of things. Number one, the went downhill and OWNED Pikeville on the LOS. Secondly, they got Belcher and Hendricks both in the backfield and started running some zone read stuff. They also got Hendricks downfield more. Lastly, they got pressure on Charles and played some very good defense. Goina be a tough ball game this Friday. Pikeville looked completely overwhelmed in the 2 minute or so video i just watched.

Should be a great game. Going with Raceland by 7. But the Rams better show up ready to play.
11-16-2014, 10:18 AM
Incredible job by Paintsville's coaches and players with that win over Pikeville, I don't know if I have ever seen such a turnaround from being blown out completely during the regular season and then winning on the road in a fairly dominant fashion. Raceland is one of the most complete teams you would ever see and Messer is an incredible athlete. I think Raceland's defense trumps Paintsville's explosive offense and I think the Rams offense is just too strong, especially their LOS, for the Tiger's defense, who is playing really well themselves. I don't think Raceland dominates the way they did the first game, but I think the Rams stay focused this week and wins 28-14. Should be a good game.

I am a BIG Ram Fan but I see them losing this game 21-6. The passing game left us a month ago for some reason and all the trick plays aren't working against good teams. We have to many players that are getting cocky and running their mouth during games and not paying attention to the big picture at times. I hate seeing us play like this......every game you just wonder who is going to get thrown out. We need to keep two backs in the back field and run the ball down the field! We have very good backs so the QB doesn't need to be running every first down. Play Raceland football, Smash mouth football!

Glad I'm not the only one seeing these things Thats Right. But watch out, some Rams fans on here don't want to hear it.If you don't come on here and let orange cupcakes drop out of your mouth you're an idiot and don't know what you talking about. Some Ram fans can't see because of the orange goggles. You're right our passing game has become nonexistent which is okay right now because the teams we have been playing we can run over top of.When we play a team that takes our run game away do you think that we can move the ball down the field successively throwing it?For some reason we don't run a pass route less than 15 yards it's like we're going all or nothing. All in all I think our coaches do a great job though.I am just able to look at Raceland football teams like I do other football teams and see their downfalls.I like to get on here and talk about them and get other people's feedback.I think the Rams handle Paintville quite easily.Great effort Paintsville gave last Friday I don't think they can do it two weeks in a row and the Rams will be ready.

I agree in some regaurd. The passing game has taken a backseat at times, but thats been do to our running game being more successful than it was early on the season. I would also agree that the QB keepers need to be used a bit more sparingly, but we average about 4 or 5 yards per carry when we run it. We do have a tendency to continue going back to it when teams do make the adjustments and begin stopping it.
We do have a tendency to get a little mouthy at times, which I am fine with to a degree. Past teams hae been very tallented but just lacked that gritty attitude to push them over the edge. You have to use your head though and not let it get the best of you.
I think this is the game that we get our passing game going again. Our staff makes great second half adjustments and these senior do not want to go ot with a loss at home. Rams win by pulling away late in the 3rd. But its goina be a battle.
