Raceland vs Paintsville Regional Championship
#1
Both teams stand strong at 10-2. Racelands holds losses to Ashland and Ironton OH. Paintsville has avenged one loss, beating Pikeville in what may be the upset of the decade atleast in 1A football. They look to avenge another loss that came to Raceland (32-0). Raceland seemed to overlook Fairview early on and the Airview passing attack pushed Raceland to the limit in the first half. It should still be a great game and after Paintsville avenging a 50 point defeat at the hands of Pikeville, I dont think anyone will be overlooking Paintsville. I look for a tight game for a half, but Raceland pulls away late at home.

It's gonna be a tough one, I'm going with Raceland.

Raceland by a touchdown.

OBVIOUSLY Raceland best not underestimate Paintsville. Chirico has those boys BELIEVING. I think the Rams are chomping at the bit at another shot at Williamsburg. But they better come out and take care of business against the Tigers next Friday.

I probaly will have Crow again next Friday Night. But I got to go with Raceland in a close one.
#6
Rams by eleventy billion. Although for a while tonight I thought it was going to be Fairview and Paintsville in the regional final next week. We played an un inspired first half then the coaches peeled the paint off of the locker room walls at halftime and we came out and took care of business.

Who would of thought we would of have had this match up?

Should be a great game to watch. Both teams have had an awesome season but I have to take the Rams in this match up. 28-14. Love the Rams defense.
#10
I'm just glad I don't have to drive 3 hrs to freeze to death.

If Raceland comes out hitting hard like they did in the second half against Fairview then I don't believe it will be close. Paintsville is going to come in very fired up and the Rams have to hit them in the chin hard early on to take away their confidence. I believe Raceland's coaches will have the Rams well prepared and they will not make the same mistake as Pikeville.

If Racelad does not do something with the kick off cover team it will be their down fall.Short kick offs with the cover team tip toeing down the field gives the other team a short field all night long.A good team will make us pay.Ram coaches need to do wath Raceland does best at this point in the year.I believe Salmons gets a little to cute sometimes. The Rams passing game is virtually nonexistent. We started good in the Fairview game and then tried to put it on cruise control. Its hard to make this young kids get ready for a team the beat down earlier in the year.Let's hope they are ready for Painesville this Friday.

I agree. While I believe whole heartedly in Running the ball as our primary offensive mindset. Simply because we have so many options to do so in so many different ways. I think we tried to play the clock game a bit too early. The 2 turnovers and our inability to stop their intermediate passing game was what told the tale in the first half. Roy finished with 265 through the air, Id like to know how man he had in each half. Because my gues is that it was very lopsided. But I digress this is a Paintsville/Raceland thread. I wonder if they ever got the Hendricks kid going offensively? Im more shocked that they held Pikeville to 6 points. What have they changed defensively? Rams better strap up and hit em in the chin early or this cinderella will avenge another loss.

If I remember correctly, the radio announcer said Roy had 203 yds passing in the first half.

if that us the case. We held them to 63 in the 2nd half. Which makes me feel really good about our staff's ability to make the right adjustments.

Raceland by 14!

Whoever wins or loses I am sure it will be a good game. I am looking forward to it.

RamDad..Raceland had over 500 yards of offense last night. Get a grip dude. The passing game is going to be non existing when you rush for 450 yards, why the heck would you throw it when they can't stop the run? Never seems to amaze me how much you all THINK you know ab the game versus how much you ACTUALLY know, which is nothing.
#22
By the way, I'll take the Rams on Friday.

Nice to only drive a few miles to freeze, especially when you're winning. Confusednicker:

AND...I have to go with the RAMS next Friday.
#25
I expect the Rams to win and move on to face another orange team.

They was a reason I pick Paintsville to be my sleeper team in 1A....Mysonis55 and me 64SUR has been shipping Paintsville bottle water. But I didn't let 55 know what I was doing.....Williamsburg has 3 weeks of water supply from mayfield. :Cheerlead good luck to both teams. :betterthanexpected:

Have to agree. If it aint broke, dont fix it. No sense in throwing if you dont need to. If you look at the passig numbers, we had 86 yards through the air. Young was 2 for 12 and Messer was 2 for 2. If we can run the hurry up offense and do so RUNNING the ball, that will open up our passing game. We can throw, we just didnt have to. When we needed a long completion on both 3rd and long situations, we got them on some nice throws and a great catch and run by Snyder. But when the running game is rolling and your averaging 9 yds/carry as a team, gobble them up and keep the other teams offense off the field.

The halftime adjustments were excellent, I honestly believe that Raceland could've run for 600+ last night, had they stuck to the running game. Christian and Snyder are a nice one, two punch, not to mention Walker's bruising running style, he absolutely blew up #56 on the two point conversion in the fourth quarter, that may have been on a botched hold, can't remember, but the play happened right in front of me and it was nasty.

I honestly believe this team is better than last year's team and to me, the biggest difference is on the defensive side of the ball. Just my opinion.
