Story of Whitleys life.
11th game of the year and we still don't have a center that can snap in the shotgun.

Might be time for a new Whitley coaching thread Confusednicker:
#4
21-0 NL in the 1st qtr. Confusednicker:
#5
North Laurel QB - Hodges TD.....Kennedy #28 field goal for the year....good. 21 North Laurel - 0 Whitley County! This is in the 1st quarter!
#6
End of 1st quarter action North 21 - Whitley 0!
#7
North Laurel 21 - Whitley County 6 - extra pt picked off.....
#8
Whitleys spotted teams points all year long.
Its amazing how many first qtr points they've given up
#9
NL has only ran 10 offensive plays but has 21 points.

That's all on Whitley miscues.
#10
Whitley Co. TD, complete 2 pt conversion....to Simpson! 2nd quarter.....21 North Laurel, 14 Whitley County.

I told you in the prediction thread, Whitley would spot North points.

North better adjust quick. They have the ability, but its hard to stop a team like Whitley from scoring quick.
#12
Whitley went for it on 4th down, stopped by NL...Medlock, jarred the ball loose. Jags 1st & 10! #10 Jake McFadden, TD - for NL.....78 yds - what an exciting run. 28 North Laurel - 14 Whitley County! What a game!
#13
Interception Lewis.....all the way TD - Kick by Kennedy good.....North Laurel - 35 Whitley County - 14.
#14
Score Whitley County 21 (on a pass) - North Laurel 35

Halftime

North 35
WC 21

Whitley to receive after half.

I questioned Norths defense to the dislike of some, and it appears I wasn't out of line. The spread is giving them fits.
To be honest, Whitley has given North points with there own defensive problems. I think North only ran about 20 offensive plays in the first half, but they have 35 points.
Whitley still continues to spot points and fumble snaps. They were doing this he first game of the year.

I think Whitley needs to score right after the half if they want to win. Another score for North and I think its over.

Luke Woods, slung down as the first half ends - North Laurel 35 - Whitley County 21. :redboxer:

This game has lived up to the hype, great game. I think you are right, they need to score quick after the half to stay in this. North Laurel, has such big blocking backs they are making holes that are just amazing! Yeah, that fumble on snaps is killer! Hate it for them.... :pondering:

North has 245 rushing yards, and no passing yards on only one attempt.
The big plays killed Whitley. Pretty much straight runs going for 60 and 70 yards. Our defense hasn't been placed right all year.

Whitley has more yards, but is about evened out with a 130 rushing and 190 passing. This Whitley team could be very good if it could borrow a defense.

This is what I voiced my concern about for North fans.
There defense was suppose to be unreal. World beater according to some.

I asked if they had faced a balanced spread team this year and was told it would give them no problems.
There defense averaged giving up 100 rushing and 100 passing a game.

Whitley has almost 200 passing alone and 130 rushing in the first half.

What id give to have a good defense at Whitley this year.

I know what you mean. I see all the time players that I think, if they were on another team it would make them better, it just doesn't work that way. Got to go with what you have! Well, hope the 2nd half is as good as the first half was. Great game!

Whitley has GOT to make an adjustment on defense.

Hopefully it will be a replay of the Harlan game.
#22
North Laurel using the clock now....Hodges QB keeper, in the end zone another TD - bad snap....no ex pt!
#23
Sideline interference on Whitley County, not sure what that was about? Jags, 1st down, mid field, 4th down and 3 from the 8 yd line. Time out - 5:33 left on the clock! 41-28 North Laurel.
#24
Whitley blocked a FG attempt!
#25
TD Whitley County - Kicker hit the bottom of the up-rights.
#26
Score??? Time??

41 - North Laurel - 34 Whitley County - 3:17 left
#28
32 yard run my #10 McFadden - he must have 400 yards rushing
#29
2:55 - NL on the 1 yard line - what fun game! This fan base is going nuts

If Whitley had a defense, they win this game easily.

They cannot stop the run. They know its coming. They know what play is coming, and they just cant do it. Such a shame with an offense that's killing North.
