This is sad...but not surprising.

Did anyone see him sing the National Anthem at one of the Nascar races last year....My husband and I knew immediately that he had a bad drinking/drug problem..

He looked awful. He was very bloated and his words were slurred.

His lawyer said the pills he had were prescribed from a hip surgery he had not too long ago.. hopefully he isn't getting addicted to pills.. it's such a sad thing happening to so many people

Lexington police arrest country music star John Michael Montgomery early Thursday morning and charged him with DUI and other charges.

Police arrested him after an officer saw Montgomery's vehicle swerving along Man O'War near Bellau Wood Drive around 2:20 a.m.

Montgomery was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of carrying concealed deadly weapons, disregarding a traffic control device and improper turning.

Police say the controlled substance was the painkiller Endocet. Montgomery's lawyers have asked the court to dismiss the controlled substance charge and the two counts of carrying concealed deadly weapons. Montgomery's lawyers say Montgomery has a prescription for the painkillers and has permits to carry concealed weapons -- he just didn't have them at the time he was arrested.

Police say Montgomery had been drinking at Austin City Saloon in Lexington before he was pulled over.

Montgomery was released from jail around 7 a.m.

John Michael Montgomery is a Nicholasville native, and is widely known for his success in country music.

I really wish that I could feel sorry for a rich, famous country singer . . . . .

But it just isn't working.

The rest of us working stiffs find a way to get by and survive without drugging our life away. For the life of me--I can't figure out why people like this can't do the same thing.

Doc--YOU ROCK!

(Yes, I know, I am a poet--but I DID Know it!)

I am sure that the pills and the Whiskey made a GREAT COMBINATION. It is a wonder that he didn't kill anyone.

Even celebrities have problems I suppose. Hate to hear this about anyone but if you play you pay. Simple as that. His farm is right next to my cousin's. They are only seperated by the property line fence which is pretty cool.
