Johnson Central 35 Belfry 0
#91
I think Central will be able to get pressure on CC with their front seven. If their line turns out to be better than ours and they can make positive plays on the ground and keep our DL and LBs out of their backfield, then they'll be the first team all year that has. Not saying they can't. Just that I'd be surprised if their O-line is that strong.

Ironton vs JC would be fun to watch

It would, too bad Ironton decided to not renew the series after losing the past two years. I do know JC called Ironton and asked to play the first Friday in October, when their series was played previously, but they declined. Said they were interested, but did not want to take a chance on missing the playoffs due to their rating system. Palladino is the real deal.

Tough to blame OH and WV teams for their reasoning.

I am not too sure a 1-9 team is going to give you much help against a top passing team with a D-1 QB, a handfull of good WR's and one who is one of fastest players in the state. The DB's and safety have faced nothing like them all year and I am sure the D line has not faced a QB as allusive as Hoge is. I am not saying they can't defend HHS, but they have not faced that kind of talent yet and it would have been nice for them to be tested in season before playoffs. I am positive HHS has faced a bigger, better D line than JC has and will be prepared if they meet up.

So, what does Highlands' schedule have to do with Johnson Central? The Golden Eagles have to win a couple of games before Highlands needs to worry about JC's defensive line.

Johnson Central had not faced a team as good as Ashland until a couple of weeks ago. It did not matter. Johnson Central had not faced a team as good as Belfry until last week. Their weak schedule did not matter then either.

I am sure that Johnson Central is not looking past its first two playoff opponents.

Congrats to the Golden Eagles! From what I understand JC dominated the LOS and completely overwhelmed the Belfry line.

Game effort by the Pirate defense as the Eagles scored essentially 21 of their 35 via trick plays or following a blocked punt.

Belfry simply has to get healthy, especially at the Safety spot and the DLine. Wish JC the best in the playoffs!

Pray at Perry Central is a great athlete playing QB. He's probably as elusive, if not more so. Just not (not remotely, I'd say) the same caliber of passer as Hoge. Nor does he have the targets Hoge has. Then again, Workman is pretty elusive himself...
