In the 2006 playoff game, if my memory serves me correctly......
Ashland had the ball, they fumble... JC recovers and scores.

In the 2009 game... I think Ross Sanor was a freshman or a sophomore, he comes in the game and throws a Touchdown pass to win the game.

The 2012 was the best game I've ever seen.
Game goes to OT.... Ashland get the ball first and scores on a pass to the tight end. JC gets their chance, scores on a 4th and goal pass from about the 30 yd. line.... one of the best passes in JC football history. Then the 2 pt. conversion was even better. I think it was #1 Dalton Adkins as a sophomore that was hit short of the goal line, but inched his way in to give JC the win. I still have that game on my DVR.

JC has their first chance to make a statement and does so..

JC 49
Ashland 21
#38
JC 38
Ashland 30.

Baker will have 200 yds in game
#39
Total wins of JC opponents according to KHSAA and Maxpreps 15

Total wins of Ashland opponents according to the same sources 31

Dont know if this is significant in predicting, but it is a fact.

Poor kitties couldn't beat Russell won't beat Johnson Central. Unless baker just goes nuts it will be a long night for the kitties in paintsville. I'd give baker the ball 75% only chance Ashland has against an Eagles team that is to big, to physical, and overall just too much.

Eagles- 38

Excellent choice of words......

The smack talkin' side of me says that beating Ashland 55-0 wouldn't be a statement either....

But we all know thats not true. Ashland is Ashland. Their W/L record is a MOOT point when it comes to playing JC.

I do look for JC to do what they do best..... RUN THE FOOTBALL!!!!
Nothing fancy, no trick plays.... Line up and say 'Stop me if you can'
A few passes are to be expected because I think we've passed the ball better this year than years past AND a few successful pass plays early in the game SHOULD keep the Tomcats honest.

One thing I will say about JC's game last Friday night......

Eagle84 may have seen it as well, but you can tell JC has some All-State wrestlers on their starting defense.

One of JC's DB's stood a kid up... and from where I was sitting, it looked like he got double underhook's and took him straight to his back. Kinda surprised this certain player didn't tripod and walk to the head. Big Grin

And this is just one of example of MANY from this season.

I remember when Ironton, OH. came to Johnsonville in 2012.... their speedy RB couldn't get nothing going because of JC's wrestlers who play football kept him on his back all night.

Once you wrestle.... you are known as a WRESTLER who plays baseball/football/basketball/soccer.

The only way "Ashland is going to lay the lumber on Johnson Central" is if they bring a delivery truck to the game and lay some lumber off at JC's award winning Ag. Department.

Is baker known for being injury prone?

I could be wrong and I'm sure I'll catch backlash for saying this, but I think he is known for getting "banged" up during games that are...let's say "out of reach"

Games like this need Howard "The Fink" Finkel to introduce the teams.....

Best pro wrestling ring announcer ever... only in the late 80's early 90's though.
After that he started to suck it up.

Freshman season he was the starting TB tore ligament on the top of his foot against Ironton tried to play on it a couple different times but ended up having to cast it and not play basketball or track the next spring. Last year he had a high ankle sprain different foot and reinjured it during the Cov Holmes game when a kid twisted it after the play. 2 seasons down and FTH hasn't seen him yet. This year he has been healthy all year and besides his regular blows he hasn't missed anytime and is 100%.

Yes that was one of the games he tried to come back and play on the torn ligament went down first series and wasn't hit or made a block, one of those but they had misdiagnosed his injury until after that game.

I love the radio spot on WSIP that Coach Matney did for this game..... I know when some of my elder neighbors are talking about the game, the commercial did its job.

It reminds me of an Old School Pro Wrestling promo.....
Coach Matney (Hulk Hogan) is telling all of his Hulkamaniacs (Golden Eagle fans) to come out to WrestleMania (the JC vs. Ashland football game) to watch them take down Andre The Giant (The Ashland Tomcats)

[Image: http://img.youtube.com/vi/zv2po0qWVww/0.jpg]

SO WATCHA GONNA DO BROTHER........ WHEN COACH MATNEY AND HIS GOLDEN EAGLES RUN ALL OVER YOU!!!!!????

Harry Rex Vonner Wrote:East Carter? The weakest overall 4-A district in the state will, if possible, get weaker. Do the other three pansies stay in the district?

Absolutely !!!! JCHS and it's fans have complained, along with the self - proclaimed "Messiah" of HS Football and Wrestling for 8 years. They-JCHS, has the very weakest district schedule in the KHSAA Football. In addition, Jim is building up these watered down Canadian and / or Private schools from Philadelphia, Mississippi or Ohio and then claims that he "can't get anybody to play us!" Hey Jim, Male, Trinity, Scott Co., St. X, Conner, Cooper, Bryan Station, Pulaski Co., Bowling Green, Warren Central, Highlands, Cov. Catholic, Owensboro Catholic, CA-Louisville, Desales, Caldwell Co., Boyle County, Lex. Catholic.... Must I go on ??? Pick the phone up and fill your schedule with competition instead of constipation !!! :lame: :flush:
