Why is Belfry ranked ahead of South Warren and the long list of 1 loss schools? because they've played an NFL schedule and the others haven't?

Belfry has beat three teams better than anyone South Warren has even played.

Belfry lost to a 1A team.a good team but still a 1A team, South Warren is undefeated and should be in the number 1 spot.

If Bell is the #7 best team in 3A. I know maybe 8 1A teams that can beat them....need bell county fans to see this. nicker:

You are giving way too much weight to the loss to Pikeville. If you look at the total schedule for Belfry, they've earned that #1 until someone takes it away.

South Warren hasn't lost.Belfry has to a smaller class team.if Alabama is ranked number 1 and lost to UPIKE they don't stay number one. the 6A school ain't the powerhouse they were made out to be.nicker:

ITT we discover pjdoug has Leslie County in his 2A Top 5.
He also thinks Pulaski County will beta Bowling Green twice.

Lol. South Warren hasn't really beat anyone of note. I'd bet bottom dollar Pikeville could be competitive with them. Strength of schedule HAS to be factored in some. If not, why don't all teams just schedule a Jenkins, etc and load up to try to be undefeated? Because if they play a tougher schedule, it gets them more ready for the playoffs. South Warren should not be more rewarded than Belfry due to that, and I think that is probably what has kept Belfry above them.

maybe they could but a 3A team shouldn't be rewarded for losing to a 1A team.

If Williamsburg were to beat a top tier, defending 3A state champ, you'd be crowing til the cows came home and making the same argument I am.... That losing to an outstanding lower classed team does NOT penalize you more than rewarding a school who has a clean record against lower quality opponents. Combined records of South Warrens opponents is 17-34. Belfry's opponents combined record is 27-23

I think Pikeville had a good win over a higher class team.the higher class team shouldn't be ranked number 1 for losing to a 1A team. I most certainly would not be crowing about Williamsburg.I'm not even a Williamsburg fan nicker:

You can't help the schedule it is made sometimes 4 or 5 years in advance, what is important is how you beat teams on your schedule. And what kind of team you have, from top to bottom,

South Warren is closing the season much in the same way as it did last year, great record but with a suspect schedule. However, were it not for a field goal that literally was four inches too wide, it would have been SW playing Wayne Co. in 2013 for the west semis instead of Tilghman.
I suspect that loss will be a stinging reminder for South Warren come playoff time this year. 3A football in the far west is as weak as I have seen it in years. Do not see any sort of playoff threat emerging from out this way.

And you know as well as i do,if Belfry and pikeville played 10 more times belfry would win them all...Pikeville knows that too..Yes Pikeville was better that night but not a better football team now...

Pikeville has a great team and they beat Belfry up and down the field this year. I celebrate and respect a team with that type of heart and skill. I will say this, other than Central, I do not see a team in 3A that could handle the Pirates IF Belfry is 1) Healthy 2) Plays to their ability

No...that's conjecture. It's a mistake assuming Belfry improves while no one else does. Pikeville would take 2 or 3 out of 10 from Belfry. The Panthers match up well enough for that. The Pirates are a very good team, but so is Pikeville.
