I think this game should prove Paintsville has put the Pikeville loss in their rearview mirror.

Fairview had 21 first downs to 8 for Paintsville and well over 200 yards rushing and 400 total yards. Paintsville made more big plays though. The Tigers returned two interceptions for TDs, held Fairview on downs at their 1 yard line and then Daniel went 99 yards for a TD, and hit a 71 yard TD pass. Big win, congrats to the Tigers.

Congrats Tigers.

BOTH of these teams played their hearts out, neither one gave up and fought til the final buzzer sounded. Like Jetpilot said, Paintsville made the bigger plays.
On a side note, Paintsville won this game without Damien Belcher

Good teams find a way to win no matter the stats, but in the scheme it was well played by the Tigers. In reality Kash won in by himself and almost gave it away by himself.
Roy had all day to throw and made it look easy and he is a great QB gone best we have seen this year by far. Best to
Fairview and Great team but what happened to the staff of coaches and kash's dad after the game ? Looked like he was fired up about something.

Fairview is very very far from a great team. 3 losses now and got obliterated by Hazard. Good teams do find a way to win but if you give up 450 yards to Fairview and close to 250 on the ground it doesn't bode well. Just saying. Looks like Paintsville will be rolling into Pikeville in round 2 unless they fix their D and upset Raceland.

Congrats on a great win Paintsville.

Call it what you want 5-0 , still a good or great win. Either way it's a win.

Congratulations to Paintsville on the win. So proud of how they have fought back after the Pikeville loss. Just think, two years ago, they were defeated rather handily at home to turn around and get to the point they are at now. This win is an attribute to the players and coaches for the vision they had on where they wanted to be, the hard work required to get there and buying in to the team concept. They will go down as the class that has restored Tiger Pride in the football program. Best of luck to you all the rest of the way.
Side note: I sincerely hope Daymion is alright. I had the chance to work with him over the past couple of years and got to know him quite well. He is a great player and an even better young man. Get well soon Daymion.

It's apparent I forgot about the thrashing beat down from Pikeville , we are 6-1. Pikeville is the best east of 75 IMO

They are going to have to keep proving it on the field. Records will be thrown out in a few weeks and we will start all over again from scratch.:truestory:

I was just waiting for the "Fairview is down this year" defense. This was a hard fought game on both sides. Our kids have bought into the idea that there isn't a team we play that we can't beat if we play to our potential. I said earlier that the Pikeville game may have still been a loss if we'd had everybody healthy, but I don't think it would've been anywhere near what it was. We had Lemaster and Howard both out when we played there. When you take those 2 off the line, Kash doesn't have time to get rid of the ball. The line makes all the difference. I'm anxious to get Belcher healthy and Hendricks will be eligible before we go to Raceland. I'm right there with how the boys think, I think we're capable of beating any team we play. And, I can tell you now, that attitude is something that the coach has instilled in every kid on the team.

Their own fans will tell you they are down. Hazard will definitely tell you they are down. Paintsville D gave up around 450 yards. Imagine if it was Raceland, Hazard or Pikeville on the other side of the ball. If you can make yourself believe a 54 point loss (could have been even worse, running clock and all) was a fluke, have at it. The good part is, 95% sure Paintsville will get another crack at Pikeville. And if your D plays like they did tonight, well...:flame:
10-11-2014, 06:42 AM
Now, JP, I didn't say it was a fluke. I think Pikeville will contend for a state title this year. They have the best team we have seen or will see this year, I'm sure. What I said was that I don't think we would've lost by 54. That's a far cry from saying it was a fluke. Our D does need to step it up. And, I'm sure weather was a factor tonight as well. There was some play calling that I wasn't sure of either, but this was a big game for our kids. If you'd told them 2 years ago or even last year that they'd beat Fairview tonight, I don't know that you would've had anybody believe it. Heck, most people before the game tonight wouldn't have believed it. Especially if you told them that we didn't have Belcher playing.

Attitude reflects leadership. I've known about all the guys on the staff for most of my life. Each are great individuals, were great players and great teammates of mine. As for Coach Joe, he is one of the best and most genuine people you will ever meet. Huge, huge win for the team, school and community.
