NCC thumps Newport 42-7. NCC will start hitting their stride all the way to Bowling Green starting with this game. The bye week is exacting what NCC needed to get focused on winning instead of surviving their big school challenge.

once again, i dont think newport believes they can beat NCC, just like lloyd didnt. i do think newport is more talented than lloyd. if NCC lets newport stick around, they have the attitude and talent to win. NCC better put them away early or it could get ugly. in the end, what does it really matter, 1st or 2nd, the teams NCC plays in the first three rounds of the playoffs will be a joke. the last game against beechwood will be the best team NCC sees until the semis. not sure any team on this side will beat them in the playoffs. Desales on the other hand, should be a blow out. im predicting now, 56-7, Desales. NCC's coaching staffs refusal to make some lineup changes will cost them a state title, along with the offensive coordinators poor play calling.

NCC will lose this game. Newport's been waiting for this game all year and finally will get a chance to shut the VISITORS up. Our dline is way to big and strong for anyone in 2a to handle. Coupled with the fact that NCC's play caller is a joke, the cats win by 3 td's.

They are due, plain and simple. Sooner or later they are going to have a breakout game and I think this is the one.

First and foremost Newport WILL NOT beat NCC by 3tds go home and smoke some more of that stuff. 2nd if I were you I prob wouldn't call anybody a joke after the way Newports Coach acted after they lost fair and square to the Williamsburg team. Yes, he walked off the field WITHOUT shaking the other teams hand classy huh?!?! And 3rd I think the only ones who need shut up would be you guys! U compare the record and yes Newports record is better but looked who they played compared to NCC. Newport wouldn't have sniffed the end zone to those teams. Newports DLine has NOTHING ON SK, CC nor Dixie. Skill player for skill player wanna debate? NCC wins this game by 2tds

The wildcat defense will smoother Smith. He'll feel like he's playing against the big schools again. The offensive line will need more than retooling, how about all new players. Get a grip ....hang on tight.....it's going to be a rough ride the the Breds. Oh and by the way, your defense will only see the backs of our jerseys.:flame:

Haahaa is that the game plan stopping Smith, ask Lloyd how well that worked out for them?!?!? You don't have a clue therefore I'll take all your crap talking for what it's worth a grain of salt!! A rough ride it may be but my money is your cats may be looking for another reason to cry and someone to blame for another loss!! U think you guys did something because you beat a WEAK Pendleton County or Brossart team?!?! Nooooo all you did was proved to everyone out there how classless your head coach was keeping the starters in there the whole game against a team that was of no threat to you Gus. Or let me guess maybe because you beat WV without the rb that was tearing you guys up the whole 2nd half. Hell it may be a good game maybe even come down to the wire but you guys better bring your A game from the beginning and not get tired in the 2nd quarter since that seems to be your ek link or it am be a long night for the cats!!

Newport has the talent to win. not sure they have the coaches or discipline to. NCC wins 14-8.

My opinion is I don't believe Newport will beat NCC. They can "try" to stop Smith but he is only one player, I'm pretty sure without him they can still win. That's all :-)

If the game itself is anything like this thread, it should be a good one. A good Newport team is good for NKY football. It's been awhile since NCC has to "prepare better and respect" their Wildcat opponent.
I'm not going to make a prediction. However, I will say if Newport wins, it would turn Bred nation upside down!

Their new coach is having a positive impact on overcoming a defeatist attitude with too much tradition. I would reply to the "handshake" comment but I'll let it go since it's not even worth it!! Everyone is focused on my response to him but not anything he said. I clearly voiced my opinion as EVERYONE else on here does, and I'm not worried if you guys don't like it or think I have a bad attitude. Trust me as we all know I've read a whole lot worse on this site before.

no has pointed out that last year, NCC's best offensive games was against newport (not counting holy cross or brossart, was mostly jv in those games). thats the night old man schneider got knocked down and his son (dave) left the game. was a close game until coach wiggins took over and the offense was almost unstoppable. hmmmmmmmm
