Will UK get Bowl eligible??
#31
Patch Wrote:Well, if at the end of the season we are not bowl eligible I will gladly admit I was wrong but hopefully I will get to hear that you underestimated them. By far not drinking any KOOLAID of any color, but with the record we have now and some of the teams coming up not meeting expectations, I will stand by my belief that it is very possible.

I would be as happy as anyone on here if we went to a bowl. I just don't see it happening.

And if u think the SEC East is hard then u don't know much about football...

BBN stick to basketball, u don't know football....

ND keeps out of a conference to stay relevant on ESPN.
The money is hog wash. They could make as much in a conference and the NBC deal wouldn't matter.

If ND were in a conference they wouldn't get talked about. ND should be in the Big10, and always should have. Do you not realize how ridiculous that is?

One of these days its going to be a rule that you must be in a conference and ND will probably just start selling souvenirs.

To say ND would ever be ranked again as an SEC school would be absurd. They might start out that way in the preseason like they always do, but end up losing to somebody. When they do complete there easy schedule and go undefeated, they face the likes of Bama and get shamefully embarrassed.

The entire country no longer respects ND. Its become the laughingstock of college football royalty.

I thought ND was relevant due to a fake girlfriend or something by some Chinese dude?

If they can get this W tonight I believe they will get bowl eligible.

LWC Wrote:Short and sweet: Beat Vanderbilt and a bowl game is possible, lose and it is not.

The long and detailed: Vandy and ULM would give the Cats 4 wins. That leaves 7 games to obtain two wins. The most likely wins? Let's start with losses first. At LSU is an almost certain. That is a TOUGH place to get a win! Georgia is fairly vanilla offensively BUT they have a VERY good line. Florida really exposed UK's line. Georgia will walk out with a win. Mississippi State looks really good.
That leaves South Carolina at home which would be tough but can happen. Unfortunately, that leaves the most likely wins as road games: Missouri, Louisville, and Tennessee.

I believe if UK is to make a bowl game they have to beat Vandy, ULM, and win at least 2/3 against Missouri, Tennessee, and/or Louisville.

How exciting would it be if beating Louisville made UK bowl eligible?

I think this win guarantees a bowl game IF the Cats take care of business against ULM.

Can UK win one of the seven games remaining (not counting ULM)? I say yes.

Oh horse sh@t the reason Notre Dame won't join a conferace is for the fact they wouldn't be able to pick there cupcake schedule they always do. And then cry why aren't we in the championship game.. They last time Notre Dame thought they were good Alabama smacked them so hard they still haven't got over it. Untill ND joins a conference they will alway be like Rodney dangerfield " no respect!!"

I would say its a pretty good chance the cats finish the season at worse 7-5 maybe 6-6 but I think Tennessee and Louisville will be wins and I'm not impressed with Missouri either.

It kept them relevant until they started getting blown out early in the first quarter against the only good team they played that entire year.

That was seriously the most embarrassing national championship loss ive ever seen.

Wow, looking a lot better than we did 24 hours ago!

I'm going to eat my CROW now. I thought we was at least a year away maybe two. Congratulations on the win. Been a long time since this much excitement over Kentucky football.

Just unreal what those coaches and players have been able to do in just about a season and a half. These are the kind of games that we usually are looking for "moral" victories, but not anymore.

Really LOL, If Notre Dame joined a conf. it would most likely be the ACC and the schedule would get weak... Notre Dame's schedule is tougher than UK's... Has UK played a ranked team yet?

Notre Dame's schedule is NOT tougher than Kentucky's.

UK plays three teams currently ranked: Miss. State (#3), Georgia (#13), and Missouri (#23).

ND plays three currently ranked: Fla. State (#1), Ariz. State (#20), and Stanford (#25).

UK also plays LSU, Louisville, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.

ND also plays Southern Cal, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, and Northwestern.

I compare those two schedules, and I give the definite edge to Kentucky.

southern cal is ranked. Northwestern has beat two ranked teams in a row. And Florida state is better than any team on UK schedule. So while I'm a UK fan this is entirely inaccurate.

Certainly up there with some of the Ohio State losses in title games versus some SEC schools.

Notre Dame would be middle of the pack SEC. 6th or 7th best team in the west. There is a reason ND won't schedule SEC teams.
#50
Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State, LSU and Texas A&M are all clearly better than Notre Dame. Arkansas would be a toss up with the home team being favored. Georgia is clearly better. South Carolina, Florida and Missouri would be pushes. ND would be favored over UK and UT but not much. Vanderbilt is bad this year. Get some ND.

Notre Dame has Georgia on the schedule starting in 2017 and Texas A&M starting in 2019.... There u go, ND ain't hiding from anyone....

Plus ND has dropped Michigan and added Ohio State... Also Texas is on the schedule starting next year....

The fact is SEC teams don't schedule good teams with their non-conf. games, which is understandable...

Notre Dame 26-18 all-time vs SEC Teams...

Kentucky will be bowling, South Carolina will not be bowling.
#54
Its not going to be easy to get bowl eligible, as of right now unless we get another big SEC win at LSU we will probably be underdogs in the rest of our games with the exception of ULM. If we take care of business Saturday against ULM I do believe we will have a very good shot at going to Baton Rouge and pulling out a victory over a struggling LSU team. If we can accomplish that and stay healthy all of the rest of our games will be very interesting to say the least......
#55
I think Kentucky will win 7 games!
#56
I think we now beat Tennessee and LSU. However, we do lose to Miss. St. I thought the exact opposite 3 weeks ago!

What is that record since the beginning of the BCS in 98?
I know they've been beaten by LSU twice in bowl games since then and lost to Bama in the NC game. The only time I remember them winning was against TN maybe?

Notre Dame beat LSU in 1997 & 1998... (5-5) all time vs LSU

Notre Dame beat Tennessee in 2004 & 2005...
How many times has UK beat Tennessee in the last 25 years?? Sorry had to.

Notre Dame beat A&M in 2000... Which A&M wasnt in SEC yet..

Notre Dame (5-2) all time vs Bama...

Notre Dame (1-0) all time vs Florida...

Notre Dame (3-1) all time vs South Carolina...

Notre Dame was one of the best football programs of all time. I always liked Notre Dame football! I don't understand what your point is??? If you think Notre dame would've won the SEC any season for the past ten years you have lost all your marbles! Take a look at what Penn State, FSU and Miami U have done since they have joined a conference! None of those great programs have had the same success as they had when they were Independent!
