That is the very reason that I think at least 2 years of military service should be required for everyone. Then you would have some jacka** come on any thread and question the reasoning or dedication of our troops. My father spent 22 years in and fought thru Korea and Vietnam. He was lucky on more than one occasion to make it back home. I only served 4 years during peace time, on a voluntary basis as well. My oldest son almost lost his life in Afghanistan, for someone like you to be able to get on here and degrade them for affecting a high school football game. You need to get your priorities straight.

I know all about commitments. I served 4 years in the Marine Corp. From what i'm hearing The Eagles are having some major issues with their program. The might just fold it up the rest of the year. I know they are dropping down to 1A next year. They might want to explore not playing in a district next year, and see how things go. I feel bad for the program especially when you look at their history. In the end they need to do what's best for their program.

I can't tell if you're trolling, or if you're really that ignorant... 2 things make me fighting mad. The first being phone usage at the dinner table, the second being ignorant people assuming things about our military. If it weren't for those fine folks you would have a towel around your head, sir.

It is hard to believe but there are somethings more important than high school football.

maybe they can stay home and have a Friday night practice against themselves.

Don't worry about us. Our season will surely go on. I like how you've taken this topic to take your jabs at DeSales. Your dislike for Catholic schools is really showing.
Our biggest issue is the lost gate money. You probably have no idea, but those who know anything about us, knows that we pack the house. Most of the time we have more fans than the opposing home team. I'm wondering out loud here. Would FT Knox have forfeited if it were a home game? They made a huge gate with us last year.
Now I know a forfeit used to cost the school $3000.00, I'm wondering what it is now.

What gate money are you going to get from a team with 12 kids on it, who at least one parent is on duty?

FK fans weren't showing up if most of them are GONE for fall break.
And I doubt 1,000+ DeSales fans are trekking to Hardin County to watch DeSales beat a 12-man 0-5 program. Not happening.
I have NOT heard of a packed house at FK in ages ... and that includes the ARMY BOWL against Fort Campbell.
So yes, I believe Fort Knox would still have FORFEITED. It wasn't about playing DeSales. It was about playing ANY football game with a ridiculous 12 players (one of which would NEVER see the field on any level for DeSales and has never played organized football, let alone varsity).
Would it have been better for Fort Knox to host DeSales and then have to stop the game because it didn't have enough healthy bodies to finish? No. NO. N-O.
Some DeSales fans need to get over themselves (FK has been up there and lost badly). It's not about losing on the road to DeSales.
Plus. Friday's weather was LOUSY. That would have hurt your "packed house" gate, too, not to mention why would fans show up in lousy weather to watch a lousy game?
Why wasn't Warren Central homecoming?
Why can't CAL be homecoming?

We packed the house last year at Ft Knox. We filled the visitors side. Some of our fans even sat on the home side. Ft Knox wasn't much better last year.
It's all a mute point now. Will they play this week against CAL? If not, they need to call it quits for this year.

If that's your definition of packed, then you and I have totally different definitions. When I think of packed, I think of people hugging the fences, not plenty of bleachers to spare. And I've been in the visiting side of Fort Knox. Doesn't take much to pack the visiting side.
As far as CAL? Jury is still out. But there's a HUGE difference in not being able to play when half the base in on mass exodus and playing three weeks later when your roster should be bigger.
Surely you can understand that?

No need to keep responding to ColtPride. With every post he digs himself (or herself) a bigger hole. I too served in the Marine Corps and am surprised and dismayed by the tone taken by the Desales posts.

What hole are you referring too? I've already said that Ft Knox needs to do what is in their best interest. My tone is from an earlier poster and his sideway attack on private schools.
This is a mute point now. The game wasn't played, it's over.
