CAK is Ranked 18th in Tennessee. They were 4-2 before last nights game with #1 Alcoa,TN. There is no score anywhere online of how that one turned out. Belfry beat them last year 21-14 in Tennessee.

This is a very new football program, only 13 years old. However, since moving up to 3A they've had a lot of success. They were down last year after winning back to back state championships in 2011 and 2012. They are better this year and should be a good game for belfry win or lose. Right now I think their ranked in the top 20 somewhere around #18. They actually had a bye this week and Alcoa played Scott and won 48-7. They play Alcoa on the 17th.

This one worries me.
Belfry's pass defense I still am really unsure about and CAK's QB is probably the best pure passer the Pirates will see this year. Kid will be a D-1 player.
From all reports Belfry was "good but not great" against unimpressive competition this Friday. Belfry is going to have to bring their A game to win. If they play sound football and don't hurt themselves with penalties and if the Pirates Pass D rises to the challenge:
Belfry 28
CAK 24

I just got this feeling Corbett is going to play huge Friday? I have no clue why.

Corbett is comfortable in this offense. Talked to his dad and he said he has caught on to the offense really well. He looks good under center and like you 0304, I expect him to have a big game. Maybe this Friday. Maybe next Friday. Who knows. Be as he gets more and more comfortable he will be a game changer. Decent speed and a good arm. Weather did play a factor in him trying to throw against Gallia.

Was lucky enough to get to see the CAK game live last year in Knoxville. CAK's QB was a freshman last year and he was very talented and looked very comfortable, I suspect he has only gotten better.
During half time last year I overheard the CAK PA guy discussing the game and he stated that Belfry caught them off guard, they hadn't seen a QB lineup under center all year. The Pirates won't have that advantage this year, CAK knows more of what to expect.
I think coming into the CAM, with a big crowd on hand after a long drive will lean this one slightly towards Belfry's favor. I think no more than 10 points separates the winner from the loser in this one.

It should be a great game for Belfry to see where their at? New prep polls came out today and it appears CAK moved up a spot to #7 in 3A. They got as high as #3 early in the season.

Anyone know if CAK will be televising this game like last year or if that was only for home games?
10-08-2014, 04:12 PM
I don't know anything about CAK except for what I've read over the past few days. Sounds to me like they are a very solid team, with some experienced leaders. This one could be tough for Belfry, but with them playing at home, I do believe that will make the difference.

I was going to say that the Southern KY Coat Tail Riders have ran out of options now and have moved to Tennessee teams instead
