If this Bulldog team plays anything like they did Friday then Sheldon Clark will win this game. This Sheldon Clark team is better then they started and I can't say the same for the Dawg's. We got hit in the mouth in the 1st Raceland drive Friday night and this team folded like a lawn chair. We were bad in this game last year at home and this one is in Inez and I think SC is a little better this year and they have played better competition so I honestly don't know what to think. I will be cheering and pulling for the kids, (and only the kids) but if this team don't get their heads on straight then this season will be all for naught! I say........................

With the talent and depth we have compared to Sheldon Clark the scores above is what it should look like but if this team falls apart again and we get embarrassed by a 4-1 Cardinal team then I want to see how many Lawrence fans will still be drinking the kool aid of this coaching staff!

And how do you know this? You attended all SCHS football games to make this judgement? You are so much a Debby-Downer it's funny. You have nothing good to say about a ONE LOSS Bulldog team. I bet you are a fun guy to hang out with....Confusednicker:

REPEAT: Go to Goodwill, donate your LCHS gear. You are NOT a fan.

I 100 percent agree with double gg I have no clue what to expect. I do expect bad defense and sc has a punchers chance of pulling a win out. I will always support these kids but this coaching staff must go. I'm sick of the kool-aid.
#13
Its hard to agree with double g because his facts are really never close to the truth. The truth is in racelands 1st drive they punted lc ran the right down the field and scored 7 - 0 dawgs is how that game started. Hows that a punch in the mouth?
#14
You are correct sir but after that drive lc killed themselves with false starts, unsportsmanlike conduct and a two sideline warnings. I put that on poor preparation. The turnovers killed us and coaches don't turn the ball over the players do I understand that. You have to admit lc as a whole has went backwards during the second half of the Rowan co game. I promise I'm not complaining for just one game and a loss. This pattern has happen all three years.
#15
The record would seem that way but is it lc going backward or just playing better teams. I am just saying if double g wants to be taking seriously then he need to get his facts straight. For someone that goes to all the games he sure don't get much right about the team.

The Dawgs have this one!!

LC 35
SC 21

I think he was meaning the entire 47-14 as a whole was a huge punch in the mouth? I may be wrong who knows? As far as the playing better teams, LC was favored in this game. Raceland wasn't a better team. Raceland was even better last year and LC won, and LC was suppose to be better this year? So the confusion is, how'd they get that bad with more talent?
#18
They have a lot of talented kids, they just don't have much football experience, they have at least 8 or 9 kids starting that have not played any high school football and several more that haven't played in 2 years. So while they may be jr or sr. They are football freshman. On defense they have triplett, keesee, and a couple of lineman with experience, perry missed almost the entire season last year with a broke foot. Keesee moved from corner to safety. They are still learning how to play the game you don't become a good football player overnight. Playing the poorer teams there talent made up for a lot of their "football mistakes" but with better teams their lack of experience shows.

Hey double gg you said we were bad in this game at home last year. The score of that game was 51 to 20 lc I sure hope we are that kind of bad this game. I think you must have been drinking somethig beside kool-aid.
#20
Good luck to both teams.

If this game is on Thursday I will make the short trip to watch some football. ????

Heard dalton got reinstated today.
#26
Dalton is a good kid and crazy talented but he should miss some games. gotta show the boys there is a price to pay for poor decisions. We all have made poor choices and payed the price.

Did you see the whole game or just the 4th quarter? Yes we were bad in that game but we started to pull away late in the game for no other reason then talent and depth. You sound like a butthurt coach or someone close to a coach or am I just imagining things. Like it or not but Lawrence County has had way better coaching then this in the past and you know it. You can keep on making excuses for the poor coaching and you can keep on blaming the kids on the field who are just doing things how they were taught but it won't change the fact that this team the last few years has had poor technique and fundamentals at everything they do and that is all on the coaches!

"I'm sorry", On the 2nd Raceland drive we got punched in the mouth. I guess that 1st drive got lost in all the confusion of all that great football that was being played out there. Are you going to brag about one stop and score we got on Raceland in the 1'st possession of the game when a team is usually just feeling a team out. What went wrong in the other 99% of the game?
#29
Yeah, I would like to hear the answer to that. Good post, double gg.

Dawgfan123 Wrote:Yeah, I would like to hear the answer to that. Good post, double gg.

From the film I got to see(wasn't great quality) it looked like a situation of one team having a game plan and executing it against a team that was unprepared for anything that was thrown at them? Just my opinion, but I seen good athletes on both sides of the field. Raceland's defensive backfield seemed much more on-point, but both squads had as much talent as the other. I think last year's Raceland squad might have been more talented than this years?

When you generally have two teams that are similar, the game is won from the work the coaches and players put into game film. Studying your opponents and finding ways to exploit their weaknesses is how games are won. Going through hours of the opponents game film and getting to a point where your defense knows every formation, motions, and what plays on what downage is how your defense gains confidence. They know their ready for anything that's thrown at them because they feel like they know their opponent better than they know themselves. How well coaches are at this is usually what separates dominant programs from teams that flair up every so often. Relying on talent will only get you so far and you will only be successful when that talent comes. However, if you know you're the smartest team on the field every week then you start to build dominance year after year. Knowing how to highlight your strengths and knowing how to exploit weaknesses is how coaches gain longevity.
