Middlesboro @ Union Va 10/3

Middlesboro after coming off the first loss of the season to an undefeated and very fast Pikeville squad will travel to take on Union Va next week... Predictions anyone know anything about this team?? I'll make my prediction once I study them I do know we beat them last year by 2 or 3 scores...

Also this has little to no bearing whatsoever... but Belfry (who Pikeville beat) scrimmaged Gate City and clearly appeared to be the stronger team. Gate City beat Union 38-8.

Thanks alot just trying to find out a little about them... Not that this game means anything but our boys need their confidence back and if this is a running clock we may be able to flirt abit with some new schemes and changes such as maybe a qb change which has a little talk heating up...

They defeated Richlands but as I just mentioned got crushed by Gate City. They defeated Clintwood narrowly who usually has a solid team. They are in the 9-11 range of teams in Virginia 2A.

I would put Middlesboro somewhere between Gate City (Ranked around #5 in Virginia 2A) and Richlands/Union this year.

I think on a neutral field I would say Middlesboro by 10-14... playing on the road I will say Middlesboro by a TD.

Virginia high school football is about like their basketball programs compared to Kentucky...there isn't any. Yes Union is a combined school consisting of Appalachia and Powell Valley. Powell Valley is tradition rich but I also remember a down Breathitt County team beating P.Valley 34-33 when Breathitt won like 3-4 games that year and Valley either made a run or won state.

I can't remember Middlesboro playing Union when I was in high school, but I do recall quite a few games against Lee Co. They usually weren't very competitive, but they did have one heck of a band.

Calpreps also says Bell Co would beat Middlesboro 21-14 lol... That makes no sense they even say Knox Central who Bell beat would beat Mboro by a field goal... IDK
