Oh I checked on every rating site Mississippi uses, btw, maxpreps isn't one that anyone uses, and I'm not even sure how they get their info because its completely different from any other national ranking site in the country. Southhaven has NEVER been in the top 10 in 6A. Here is the site Mississippi uses to rank schools. The other reputable ranking system is sent around to college and high school coaches in a PDF file that I still receive if you'd like to see it as well, I could email it to you?

Also, just a FYI, if you notice Calpreps uses Maxpreps for their national state ranking but I haven't seen that list. They are California based so they have to use outside ranking system and all the legitimate ones have copyright to their lists.

Mayfield fans don't worry about it. Pikeville beat a Belfry team and think they are going to win it all. The difference is you guys have been winning for years and Pikeville hasn't been good since daddy bush was in office. I have seen you guys play a couple of times and also have played against y'all down there and one thing is for sure you all know how to win while most other class a schools haven't quite figured it out.

I understand, but there's just no reason to over exaggerate like you do. Whether its the strength of their schedule or how good one of the teams are, its just not necessary. Mayfield is a great team. They're the defending champs. If you look back at my posts I've been very supportive of them. What really got me was the comparison to St. X and Trinity. You actually decided to compare a team that is ranked in the top 10 nationally in every poll almost year in and year out to a team in Mississippi that was not even ranked in the top 10 of their class. Not that they were overall a top ten team, just in their class they weren't. It just blew my mind that you'd compare them to somebody that is ranked in the top 10 out of 14,000+ schools that field a football team around the country, just because somebody made a comment that their schedule was weak? Mayfield doesn't need to defend themselves because obviously for several years now they've been dominating in their class and created quite a dynasty actually. I love seeing good high school programs that are ran the correct way and Mayfield is definitely one of those schools. I think that is why I also like Pikeville. The coach they have has created a great environment and the players and community are buying into it. With so many terrible coaches that exist, I really enjoy seeing the good ones and I'll always support them no matter what name is on the Jersey.

You're absolutely right I was off on a couple things. There are 9 different ranking systems that are reputable for national rankings. In 2011, Trinity started out as high as #2 and finished ranked #1 in the nation in 4 polls and #2 the other 5. In 2012 they got as high as #9, and last year they got as high as #2 in a couple polls. Obviously two early losses knocked them out this year. However, there was a new ranking done by your favorite maxpreps last year and they rated the Top 25 schools over the past decade. Trinity was #6 and St. X was #21

My 2 cents, Mayfield's defense is good but I think it's way to early to say it's as good as last year. McCracken and South Haven, Miss are both very solid football teams, anybody that disputes that loses all creditability. Mayfield is not a lock for the 1A title but is the frontrunner.

We obviously disagree and it appears you needing to be right is going to outweigh any facts or logic. Any logical person that has ever been around football can see the difference in facts from what you're saying to the actual truth. This has gone on long enough. However, it is impossible for you to have seen all them play and still see Mayfield? Seeing highlights on YouTube is not the same or even close. Its another attempt to inflate reality to make your point accurate. The only national list with both teams that I could find was a preseason preview on your favorite maxpreps, and there was a 500+ gap between Trinity and Southaven.

I happen to have plenty of time on my hands right now. The hudl acct is great. I can watch a play at a time even. You are correct in that it's not the same as being there.
