Mayfield 42 Marshall County 0
#1
The jv didn't even give up a score They were in all but the 1st defensive series of the second half. The jv almost scored but the drive died out at the Marshall's 5. Our boys have not given up a point in more than 10 quarters.

Cardinals flying high tonight.
#3
We were a little sluggish. We ended one drive inside their 20 on a fumble. We punted twice. The jv ended a drive on downs. We can't leave points on the field.

Six games into season, this how we stack up against the same 6 opponents from last year. Last year against these six the average game score was 40-24. This year the average game score against these 6 is 36-12.

Any leftover marshmallow mysonis55....Williamsburg need some water. Confusednicker:

Perhaps Marshall should consider scheduling the Fultons a couple of times a year.
#8
May field won't continue to get away with fumbling the ball like that. Just ask fair view.
#9
We got 2 even bigger ones up next 64. Two that we have to play. Then we finish with 2 tough teams.
#10
But, 64 the Harrison Co group is an even softer marshmallow than Marshall Co.
#11
I wish Marshall would have scheduled Harrison so we could prove who the bigger marshmallow is.
#12
Marshall Co needs some speed. They are huge, just no speed. With that kind of size a coach needs to know how to use it. A really good coach would go zero splits, line up in the I and run downhill at you. They could control they clock and be competitive. The difference between getting beat 42-0 by an undersized team and being in the game is that simple.

Marshall ain't to concerned about football I guess, I can remember when they had the opportunity to get a good out of state coach that was succesville, but they passed on a local good role boy. I was told it was because the coach wanted to much money, but it might be worth paying someone a little more, and have a descent product so people will show up to watch the games. A full stadium brings in more money than one that ain't even half full. Marshall was pretty solid for awhile especially the 90's but it is ridiculous how bad they are with that many students.
#14
I completely agree. I would not allow my team to get their heads beat in like that all the time though. Line up and play power football. hats the worse that happens, you get beat 28-7, instead of a running clock.
#15
Maybe Jim Shelton knew what he was doing in the 90's.

Well, when you are slower than the teams you play you can't try to go side to side. When you are bigger up front it stands to reason that you should be able to get push. So if you can get a push up front and you can't run laterally, it stands to reason that you run straight ahead. When you do that, you tend to wear on a smaller team and make them tired. If you can settle with 3-4 yards per carry and don't let your ego think that you have to be more flashy, you can move the chains and eat up the clock. Therefore you can eat up the clock, score and limit the other team from scoring. You have defense caused by your offense. That is what they need to do. It sounds simple because it is.
