Just a little rumor mill for you guys, I hear Corbett may be starting at QB Friday due to injury. Keaton may be out. Also, Devin Varney or Adkins may start RB due to a hand injury to Edwards (but I THINK he'd still be playing safety)

It's game day and the Pikeville thread is still more popular than this? With 0304's recent rumor mill it could be an interesting night on Pond Creek, anyone have further confirmation that we will indeed see Corbett under center tonight? Does a big game by Corbett mean anything but a bright future?

According to my sources, as late as yesterday afternoon Keaton is out and my source told me that had he been able to play, he would have been at halfback for this game.

I hope Mr. Corbett is ready for primetime. It is amazing how much has changed from week 1. Belfry went from having so many weapons in the backfield (although it seems clear we all overrated that some to a fair bit) to now having only Willis and a couple Freshman at halfback. Catrons injury really looms large now that Joplin went packing. Hopefully those freshman will step up. Both of them came up with a lot of fanfare.
If Corbett has some trowing ability, this might be a good week to work on the passing game.

This has been alluded to in several posts, but what about Austin Hall...he had one carry against Henry Clay and nothing since...I even watched him get some reps in warmups last week, but no action at halfback...I guess maybe he is either not in the HB rotation or they just want him on D...Belfry still wins tonight, but these developments make things somewhat closer IMO.

Most of my best info comes from my brother who helps out with the 8th graders and is a die hard Pirates fan, so I usually take his info as solid. From what he has told me some on the Pirates coaching staff are high on Corbetts passing abilities but it's his ability to make reads that concerns them. Though from what I have heard and seen it appears Keaton may not be making the reads at a level the coaches would like for him too either.
I also think that a different lineup tonight makes things a bit different. The defense still holds Sheldon Clark in check but the offense will have some pains
