Newport's speed will cause problems for Williamsburg and give them another chance to grow as a team.

This Newport team ain't , they lost by 17 to #10 5A Scott...Could be a tough game for the Jackets...

Hmmm, interesting game. Pretty sure the side of the playoff bracket Williamsburg was in last season was weak as cotton. Not sure how to pick this since they got embarrassed by Mayfield in the state final. Newport will find a way to give the game away im sure. Williamsburg by 10, 24-14.

Guys,
Newport is likely not a creampuff. W-burg shouldn't think that way. They played Scott (5A and undefeated) competitively.
If Williamsburg puts a running clock on them, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

This will probably be one of the few games until deep into the playoffs that w'burg wont have a running clock on someone. This will be a measure of where w'burg stands right now early in the season.

Williamsburg will have all cylinders working, the first game we have played with our starters on the field. I think we play better with A better opponent. It seems that weak opponents tend to get in our way. I have watched the passing routes the better teams break off sharp while the other teams kinda don't go where they are supposed to, any way we want everybody to have A safe trip, even you 55, you know you are invited to the marshmallow roast , we here in the burg would love to have you, after all it is your scheduling, and coaching that has gotten us this far.

Lol! I knew that one would get you stoked 64. Nah, you bring the marshmallows. Heck, we'll have a real celebration. I'll bring the beer and hotdogs!! Lots of mustard for you 64. Btw, don't get so teary eyed after your defeat that you fall into the bonfire. :devilflam:devilflam

We plan on doing our part. It's just a lot harder on this side. Time will tell.

I just found out Williamsburg will not be at full strength against Newport, We will be without Ryan Cadel, who is one of the strongest players on our team, Excellent lineman, he will be missed so hurry back Ryan. Ethan Wilson broke his finger at Wayne Co, but I don't think any one on the team has the nerve to tell him he can't play.

I UNDERSTAND THAT COLLIN WILL be back with us this week end I don't believe there is A better tackle in the state he is big 6foot2 280 and can out run most backs, I understand that he is being looked at by Army, Navy, Air Force and several Ivey league schools. Great Kid.
09-17-2014, 05:59 AM
Obviously a very good student looking at who is looking at his schools.
09-17-2014, 06:13 AM
Go Air Force!

Williamsburg fans traveling on Friday you need to leave early. There is road construction at Mt. Vernon which is backing traffic up.
