How did you all remember or pay tribute on this day?

I was working on building the Martin Co. prison, and one of the foremans came in and said, "we are under attack". Everybody had a radio playing, and were just dumbfounded. We had a 900 person moment of silence today at work.

I talked to my dad in a prayer and thanked him for his service in Vietnam and thought of those that died trying to save others and the lives lost, except the assholes that planned and carried out the attacks.

Thanks to your dad for his service. Also, remember him as the hero he was.

Morehead(where I go to school) has a lawn in front of our Library that is filled with tiny American flags that students could stick in the ground and pay their tributes in that aspect. Pretty patriotic and heartwarming thing seeing on your way to classes.

I've got weird story to tell about what I was doing while the 9/11 attack was happening......I had no idea of what was going on in New York at the time, but I did just happened to be on the phone with a guy from the Department of Justice in Washington D.C. that morning and all of a sudden he tells me to hold on for a second...He comes back on the line and says "Mr. Seger, I'm sorry but they are telling us that we have to evacuate the building right now, some nut just flew his plane into the Pentagon"....neither one of us had the first notion that the United States was under attack at that moment.

That story never gets old Seger, and still gives me chills.

I did a thread here on BGR, and rememberd folks while scanning through some pictures. I managed to grab 2 pictures before they were taken down, that showed people actually jumping from windows to avoid getting burned alive. I always get chills when I think of that.

I think that at the time both of us had pictures in our mind of a mentally unstable guy flying his Cessna into the building. Certainly not a commercial 747 with a plane load of kidnapped passengers being flown by a deranged Muslim, attacking the military headquarters of the United States and declaring war.

That's exactly correct, Bob Seger!!
