Lawrence Co. @ Breathitt Co. 9/12
#1
Who you got and why?
#2
Lawerence Co wins by 12.

Lawrence won this game last year 48-26. I don't know what Breathitt brings back, or if they are better or worse then last year, but we are a little better and I like our chances. I think some people are thrown off a little from our game with Fairview last night but Fairview beat us last year by a few TD's same time and date and we went on to beat Breathitt pretty easily.

Lawrence County by 2+ TD's.

To long time Breathitt fans LC is always a get up for game. The miniature goal post when you walk into the LC complex was made from the goal posts tore down by LC fans after ending Breathitt's win streak. I think this could be another close game but LC will come out with a win.

As bad as I hate to say it...... Breathitt is wayyyyyy down and has very little chance to keep it close...... Bad times in Jackson....
#9
Lawrence wins this one 42-24

I never thought I would see Breathitt down like this. They always fielded a very good team. What's going on in Jackson anyway?

Your being way too kind. LC will run all over a Breathitt team that barely squeaked by Jackson county. LC will score over 50. LC wins 55-12. Breathitt is terrible this year.

Lack of execution plain and simple. You can give many excuses for it but it boils down to execution.

Is there any chance Breathitt can return to their old form in a couple of years or is this something we can expect from now on?

I hope it's not a long term thing, I would like to see all the Mountain teams get strong and stay that way because it makes for better football.

Just reviewing the stats from 1st 3 games and was amazed at the balance the LC offense has. Rushing the QB Kiser leads the team with 258 yards and 3 TD's, Mosely a close second with 239 yards and 2 TD's, O'Brien with 193 yards and 3 TD's, Dalton, a wide receiver, with 68 yards and 1 TD. Passing, Kiser is 31/20 with 7 TD's and 1 int. The stat I am most amazed about is in the scoring. Who would have thought a tight end would be leading a LC team in scoring after 3 games. I know the radio guys have bragged on this guy since last year. But after watching his play for the last 3 games I will have to say he looks like the best TE from this area in many years. Of the 7 passes Kiser has thrown for TD's 4 have gone to Shafer TE #24, 1 to Dalton WR #11 and 2 to Lambert WR #1. Dalton gets the team down field and Lambert and Shaffer benefit from the double team on Dalton. We also have seen Symkins come out of the backfield for a couple of passes. This team has some potential this year. While still 70/30 run/pass the 30% pass has been deadly. LC is not passing from desperation this year but from strategy.

Breathitt is down and down big. The way it looks, They will be down for many years to come and thats just sad. Breathitt will be lucky to win another game this year... They will be lucky to beat Jackson CO next year. Bad times in Breathitt..

I got to see some video of the Breathitt-v-Bourbon game but can't get much from it. Bourbon defense was in the Breathitt backfield so quick they didn't have time to do anything on most plays. The few times the QB did have time to throw the ball he didn't look very acurate. Not the kind of QB I,m used to seeing at Breathitt County. This may be a good game for the Dawg's to turn the run game on because Breathitt's run D looks like it's having problems.

As bad as I hate to say it, Lawrence County will win by as much as they want. It is hard to image, Breathitt football being this down. Coach Moore doesn't have a lot to work with, and he is making the best of the situation. Brahma Bull said it best, by stating "there is a lack of execution". These kids are still struggling with the basic fundamentals of football, things that should be taught in grade school and middle school. We currently have no feeder system, and we haven't for the past five or six years, IMO. Why do you think Holcomb left, he saw what was coming, and with the school system being operated by the state, it doesn't look like things will be getting any better soon. I truly believe Coach Moore will have the bobcats competitive once again, but never at the level to contend for a championship. Good luck bobcats, and I hope you prove me wrong.

As bad as Breathitt may be this year, I see them winning a few more games this year. I see them defeating Knott, Morgan, and possibly Magoffin County. Who knows, Perry and Clay are down once again this year, but realistically I see the bobcats finishing the year at 4-6.

Lawrence will beat Breathitt very handily. They barely got by Jackson County who was blown out by a very weak Estill County team, something like 49-7. Breathitt is more compared to a Powell County or somebodylike that . I don't see Kyle Moore bringing anything but mediocrity to breathitt. It is the same ol' story, great players do not always make great coaches.

I count 17 seniors and 11 juniors on this roster. That seems plenty to work with. Not to mention a roster with 58 players listed. Many have fielded competitive teams with a lot less. I would not sell them short so early in the season. They lost one game to a very good team. I look for a proud Breathitt team to give LC all they can handle.

This would not shock me at all. Lawrence is overrated(mainly by their own fans), and I think they are a little better than breathitt. However, if breathitt brings their A game then who knows?
