Pikeville has too much fire power. Pugh wilk be too much for Paintsville up the middle and Estep is due for a large game. I think as it stands right now , untik they get some guys back, Paintsville is goina have to grit out some wins, this just wont be one of them. Imo, Paintsville is a step up from last year, but. Pikeville is probably 2 steps up, thats shy i am taking

Doesn't Paintsville have Daniel at LB?

Yes

Ive watch both of Pikeville's games. Prestonsburg had Sizemore and Hazard had Jones at LB, you saw the results of that.
#18
I think Pikeville will edge Paintsville.
#19
I would say if Paintsville had Phelps they might make it close. Pikeville has too much fire power. Panthers roll by 20

Agree Scotty. Pound for pound, this offensive line is good, and they are better than last season opening holes for Pugh, and other backs. Down field blocking is much better too, no doubt. Defense is certainly better. Defenders are flying to the ball much quicker, and making tackles, especially on the edges. Players are returning that were injured, so this team will only get better, imho.

I'm more worried about Daniel on the offensive side of the ball. He is going to have a breakout performance, I hope he just waits another week. Also expect to see Belcher get 25+ carries. Paintsville ran 67 plays last year to Pikeville's 38 according to khsaa.com scoreboard/stats. It seemed like Paintsville had the ball all night. They will try to use that same formula as last year IMO. Panthers better be ready or this one could be a dogfight and go to the wire again. In fact, I'm going with an upset special.

Paintsville 29
Pikeville 28

I'm checking with the FAA and NTSB to see if jetpilot was involved in a crash after that

Pikeville is preparing itself for a trip to bowling green Pikeville by 3 tds
#24
I don't see this game being as close as last years game. Paintsville is improved, but Pikeville is playing some pretty good football, and I see the Tigers having a hard time matching up with Pikeville. Pikeville has a lot of momentum going into this game, after defeating two solid teams in Hazard and Prestonsburg. Pikeville wins 42-14.

I think you may be overestimating how well the Panthers are playing right now. Both games thus far, they let their opp get up on them. I think if Dixon hadn't let himself get tossed, it would have been a different game.
#26
Pikeville is playing very well at this point and this early in the season. We hope they can continue this throughout the season one game at a time to make a trip to BG. Staying healthy will be the key...

Several people have said this. Not buying it at all. Pikeville did the same thing to Hazard last year. Hazard was up 28-21 at the half, then Pikeville came out in the second half with a 35-0 run that put them up 56-28. Hazard's coach was standing right there on the sideline watching it. The 11 people Hazard had on the field the other night couldn't tackle Pugh if their coach was standing on the sideline or sitting on the bus.

You may have watched the Pikeville/Prestonsburg game, but you weren't paying very close attention. Prestonsburg has NO "Sizemore".

Perhaps you meant Frasure ?

I disagree with both statements. Pikeville has defeated two teams who are top ten teams in their respective classes. Also, Pikeville did come from behind to win both games, but that is why we play four quarters and not three. In my opinion, this leads me to believe they are playing pretty good football. Now to your last statement, " I think if Dixon hadn't let himself get tossed, it would have been a different game". As I stated earlier, I totally disagree with you. Pikeville has proven they are a second half team, and the Panthers would have defeated the Bulldogs with or without Dixon.

Hope the tigers line step up. If not , could be a long night. If they do it could be a ballgame.. With that said, Pikeville has to be a heavy favorite..
