Congratulations LC good win . Good luck to the Vikings on the rest of the season

Had to leave at halftime but I must say, that LC offense is potent!!!!!
#3
congrats lc good win!! good luck rc the rest of the way.

Rowan had a chance to keep it close in the first half and seemed to move the ball to easily against the LC defense. However a drive killing penalty and a blocked punt spelled the end. The LC offense was way to much for their defense. Once again several players scored for LC. Very well executed offense. Defense still needs lots of work. I think the LC safety may have lead the team in tackles.

Good win for the Dawgs

Very impressed tonight with LC! Other than needing to work on Defense some and getting the younger kids under fire some. The final score is a little misleading and would seem it was close and it wasn't. I think we will be fine and might win a game or 2! The Offense and play calling really impressed me and things I've not seen LC do in a long time. That Big Fullback from Rowan was a load and He had alot of carries and I could see why. I am glad that this is year 2 of the contracts so we can start scheduling tougher competition. Namely JC or even Ashland and even look out West even farther towards Lexington for some games.

Ok I was at the game tonight, but before I give my thoughts on the game I want to give a shoutout to the Rowan County coaches and the Lawrence County coaches. If you suck and are getting blown out of the water why don't you put your JV in to build on the future. I have never understood why when teams (and Lawrence has done this in the past also)are getting blown out and the winning team starts to put the JV in, why not put your JV in also and get em some experience. What is your Varsity gaining by playing a young JV squad. I guess it makes people feel better about the score or something.
And to the Lawrence County coaches, please don't pick this contract back up next year! I want to see us beef up the schedule next season with a Johnson Central or someone like that. Good luck to Rowan County on the rest of the season.

Now for my thoughts on the Dawg's. I don't think I have ever seen a team improve that much from game 1 to game 2. I came away from this game with the feeling that with all the raw talent and gifted athletes on this team that we are going to make big strides from game to game. The defense was way better tonight and I think this Rowan offense is better then Boyd's. The tackling was better the coverage was better and I saw some aggressive gang tackling tonight. Still a few things to shore up on the defensive side, but all in all a good game. As for the offense...........talent everywhere. I think we had like 7 or 8 kids score tonight. I am going to go ahead and say it and I know I will catch some heat form some of the teams on the schedule but I don't think we play a team this year that can stop #11. The QB has shocked me on how well he can run the ball and I think we could have won the game if we gave it to #42 every play, the kid was getting 5 or 10 every time. I think this team will get better and better and I have no doubt that we have the offense to play with the best teams in the district, but it will all depend on if our defense can rise to the occasion.

One thing I will say about the defense is that the coach is trying to play as many people one way as he can. We have some very good players who to this point this year are playing offense only, but in a big close game when it's all on the line I think you will see those people on the field on defense. Our QB is probably the best defensive back on the team but he aint seen the defense yet this year and probably won't till he is needed.

Coach Cecil did Sub quite a few young kids is the reason Rowan scored a couple at the end.

Same thing next week not knocking Fairview. I think our toughest games will start with Raceland, and others will be Pike Central, and Belfry and P'burg. And I don't know what Breathitt returns but they are always Breathitt.

I got to listen to this game on the net last night from wzaq i could here about every other word and there was a lot of dead air pace but I was glad they was trying to get it out. As for the game it sounded like LC was able to do what they wanted on offense but did turn the ball over a couple of time this was an area that hurt us last and will again if it's against a better team. But that's ok it just shows a place to improve on. I am impressed with this team so far it sounds like they have a ton of talent and the coaches are sharing the love around which is great. I look for LC to have a great season and as everyone knows Belfry will be the hill to top. But we can't look past Pike Central I watch some of them on the net and there offense looked really good also about 50/50 pass & run there D didn't impress me much but they have time to work on that. I'm looking forward to see how the Dawgs continue to grow and improve looks like they have the tools to be one of the better teams we have seen in a very very long time come out of Louisa. I'll get to see them in person in October can't wait good luck and go Dawgs.

I watched the Russell scrimmage and came away very impressed with Lawrence at the skill positions. I understand why Cecil is trying to play more kids one way, but I think he will have to run some kids both ways against the better teams on the schedule.

Lawrence does have a very nice O.

I think it was nice win for the dawgs. The defense needs work up front keesee and richatdson are making way to tackles. Keesee is proably leading the team in tackels which is not what you want form your free sagtey. Right now the secondary is the strong part of the defense the line and linebackers need work.

Congrats LC strong showing. Good luck represent eastern ky all the way.

This LC offense is fun to watch.

Go Dawgs! Smile

My first ever Lawrence County game. Enjoyed it very much. Kentucky HS football is much different than WV HS football. Really impressed with the Ratliff kid. He reminds me of his Uncle Phil when he played that same position at Marshall. This old Sistersville Tiger says Go Dawgs!!!!!!
