That's real close to the way I see it.
Right now, I'd go with:
1. Bell
2a. Clay
2b. Harlan
4a. HCHS
4b. Whitley
4c. Corbin

I think some of you are way off on Whitley. They will still be a good team. I don't see how anyone could rate South or North ahead of them.

Barbourville lost EVERYTHING.
If they make the top 10 in the region, their coach should be coach of the year in the state.
Lynn Camp is probably the other top 10 team.

I think South will be much improved, they could definitely be better than Whitley. But North is a no brainer I think. We return everyone. Bruner is a top 3 player and has D1 looks.
Whitley lost a LOT from last year. Line them up position by position, I don't see how Whitley can be above North

I'm all about getting more discussion going on here but let's not repeat this same debate again. Every one knows how I feel and I can quote how most others are going to argue by now. So much can change between now and season that i don't think anyone should make to strong of a bet or feel like we KNOW anything just yet. One injury could change most teams in the region DRASTICALLY or one transfer.

Who is D1 thats looking at Bruner? Name names please.
Whitley really didnt do anything last year except keep alot of you on here something to talk about. I mean you lost the last 3/4 with the great team that was highly heralded on here. Sure you beat the usual bad suspects, all the weak mountain teams, but you cant even beat SW or Mercer( who is very young) in the 12th.

I had heard Lipscomb University and one other ... Maybe someone can confirm this though.

Somebody from the 12th please start a thread......that will give Lilly something to do with the current year, instead of trying to re-live his version of the past. HDE you could be right about Barbourville.....when I got to the bottom third of the top ten in my list I couldn't really think of anyone who deserved to be there. All of them are very weak!:popcorn:nicker:

bruner can play she will play at the next level. south will compete and win some games just not sold on doing much just yet. north I hope has beefed up the schedule this year it will help them over the next few years

I never said she could not play at the next level( there are currently alot of next levels, D1, D2, D3, NAIA) I just asked what D1 was recruiting her. BUT the mind readers insinuated that I was taking a cheap shot at this. As usual they need practice on their skills.

Everything here you said to me was based on you dont like the truth. I just said that you all lost the last 4 out of 5 games and beat all the teams you should beat.

I'm sure Bell Co. can attest to this fact as well....And as far as being on this thread....didn't you learn anything last season? No one from the 13th wants to hear or read your arrogant 12th butt opinions!!:Thumbs:nicker:

So Wizzard you are saying the referees took money to call against Whitley? I would ask you the same about nobody wanting to read your propaganda. You are as bad as ISIS.

Returning everyone from an average team does not necessarily make you a contender.
There's a reason the Whitley girls had to wait their turn. They had very good players ahead of them. If the North girls had been at Whitley, they would have all been on the bench, too, with the possible exception of Bruner. Corbin had two tremendous young guards who had to wait behind the Wilson sisters. They would have started at North and all but two or three schools in the region.
Morris, Brock, Cotton, Green and Massingill will likely be rated 1-5 in the 13th Region going into the season.

You are as bad as ISIS.Word has it.... there is an established price set depending on the game. I've heard it from several reliable sources....From what I saw last season....I have no doubt it is probably correct. As far as ISIS goes......you always put a big smile on my face! You should be a comedian!:biglmao::happysmile:

Wizzard please tell us all how much that price is. And is this for 12th region officials? I mean we all know the 13th region are crooks( IE Clay County scandal with the assigning official a few years back). And I expect you to be in a turban and grow a beard and claim Sharia law in Whitley next week.

I'm sure most teams are working at this point. Teams are probably either lifting, conditioning, having open gym, etc. Be interesting to know what some teams are doing at this point. It's hard to believe that regular season practice starts in about 6 weeks. This could be a fun and interesting season. Several teams could have an opportunity to contend for the region but so many things factor into that.
Top teams this season and the rest will be a notch below:
Clay, Bell, North Laurel, Harlan, Harlan Co, Corbin, Whitley, South Laurel
Some of these teams might be a little better than others but could also be a year where any if these 8 teams could beat one of the others on any given night. One thing for sure the 52nd district will be the toughest and best district.
Top players in region this year:
Morris - Bell
Green - HC
Brock - Harlan
Cotton - Clay
Bruner - NL
Massingill - HC
Sanders - Bell
Noe - HC
Dingess - Whitley
Wilson - Corbin

Knox will be a diff team this year with the helping of new coaching staff don't under estimate the panthers this year, but for right now clay, bell, and harlan city
09-02-2014, 02:55 PM
Until Knox gets a solid big, they will struggle.
09-02-2014, 10:02 PM
[quote=Hitters_Count]Until Knox gets a solid big, they will struggle.[/ You don't have to have a big to be competitive, if you teach fundamentals and teach the Kids how to play the correct way you will be competitive every year. Now when you gets really good group that when something special happens. The coaches that have good teams every year really stress fundamentals and teaching the kids to play the right way.

The regular season games will determine the district seed. Two of the teams will square off in the first round. All 3 teams are legitimate regional contenders. Earning that #1 seed in district is most important.

Top Teams: Clay, Bell, North Laurel, Harlan, and Harlan Co.
52nd will be the toughest district. As of now, I have Bell ahead of Harlan and Harlan Co., but they could very well get knocked out in the district.
