Does anyone think that Clark Stepp could come close to 4000 points. He is getting close to 2000 and is only a soph. averaging around 25 this season.
02-12-2006, 01:54 AM
I don't think he'll hit 4,000...Don't really have a reason but that would put him 2nd most all time in the state, and I just can't see it happening..
02-12-2006, 01:57 AM
He will probally finish at about 3200!
02-12-2006, 03:02 AM
i don't think he can do it i mean i would like to see him do it cuz he's a great player i'd say he'll end up with about 3500

Nope, Cox is too good for Stepp to get that many, he will share too much of the scoring load for JBS.

4,000 is a lot of points. I don't see it happening. He is a great player and that is a long shot for anyone.

Well, if my daddy and family and friends ran the admin and coaching staff and built a team around me, I could score 4k easy. That team is such a joke.

how long has this kid been playin HS basketball if he is already close to 2000 and he is only a soph.
02-12-2006, 01:46 PM
No, He will not reach 4000. I can see 3200 as mentioned from someone else.
02-12-2006, 04:33 PM
4,000 points is alot for any high school athlete. I don't personally see it happening because I mean..I haven't even heard of the kid and if he was on his way to getting the second most points in the state within his high school career then he should be highly publicized.
02-12-2006, 05:09 PM
I dont see it happening...
02-12-2006, 11:07 PM
I doubt it.....
Who is he? who does he play for? I haven't heard of him...........

He is a very good player, but it is very hard to do such a thing as this.
02-13-2006, 12:52 AM
i agree with alfus i think he'll end up with about 3200 or 3500 not 4000 tho

Still 3000 points is an UNBELIEVABLE accomplishment! If the kid gets stronger and gets his form straightened out, then 4000 would not be out of question. If a kid that plays any D whatsoever and is 6'1 or taller, then Stepp doesn't get 10 points, because he brings the ball straight up from belly button to chin and I would see him having a hard time geting his shot off. But he is a scorer and that is all that matters. He has 2000 more points than i did in High School, lol! Great Player!

Its crazy that we even talk about this. JBS plays Riverside 2 times, Piarist 2 times and has played David School this year, not to mention past years. The team is built around him, and playing such a weak schedule, no wonder he has so many points.

Good Point over the back.

From what I heard, Landon Slone and a 6'8" kid from Va are going to JB next year, so I definately don't think he could get that many. There won't be enough basketballs to go around.

impressive

agreed you can only have so many ball hogs on a team at once.

Landon Slone is staying put.

I've heard different from several different avenues....so I wouldn't count on that.

I dont think he will be able to reach 4000 points but I am with everyone on here he should get around 3200 or 3500 points and that is still a great feat for a HS player. If he did get bigger and stronger and played, hustled, and followed his shot like King Kelly Coleman did, then yeah 4000, but he wont get it.

i say he would get 4000 they dont have a strong schedule

June Buchanan has the potetial to be the next University Heights or Rose Hill Academy in the state of Kentucky. They are a private institution that has a nice foundation of young players. The leaders of the school and Alice Lloyd College are basketball crazy and will spare no expense. They can do things that publics in the area are unable to accomplish. It would not surprise me to see JBS dominate the 14th for the next several years and could actually put a team together in the mountains that could compete at the state level. Every body better watch out.---- As for Stepp scoring 4000, don't think it will happen. As this team improves, the scoring will be more distributed and they will be playing much tougher competion the next few years.

The reason they play these teams is because they are in the 3 Rivers Conference with them, in which they play each team at least once and sometimes twice. JBS was not even in the 3 Rivers Conf. tournament this year due to a more strengthened schedule. They have these teams, but so do others; however, they have also played some very tough teams such as: Cumberland, Sheldon Clark, Prestonsburg, Fleming County, Montgomery County, Henry Clay, Berea, Perry Central, Betsy Layne, Letcher Central, etc. This is some pretty good competition for anyone in eastern KY.
Clark is a very talented player, and the team is built around him. And as long as he proves to average 25 pts per game, why should they not be? You tell me a team around that has a player that scores 20+ pts per game and that team doesn't have plays designed around that player. Not to mention that Tate Cox also averages close to 15 pts per game, so he is also a good role player. Clark has the mentality and has been tailored to be a leader on the court - and he seems to be doing a very good job at it.
No one is perfect, but this kid and his family has put a lot of time into the game, and they are reaping the benefits. As for scoring 4000 pts - well, it is very possible and he is well on the way, but whether he does or not doesn't determine his success at JBS.

It's always possible, and if he did he would be an extreme talent. Ask me this question at the end of his Junior year.
02-14-2006, 12:41 AM
As a fan I would love to see this happen
02-14-2006, 01:16 AM
Am I hearing 2000 pts. as a soph? Thats pretty impressive i'd say.. but I'd to ask a question: Does JB have year-round basketball seasons with about 100 games a year? lol...
