Raceland 56 East Carter 6
#1
final
#2
Per the daily independent:

Young 14/19 266yds 3 TDs
Potter 4 rec 107 yds 2 TDs

Raceland 432 total yds
East Carter 162 (56 on a last minute td on the freshman)

Not much if a run game from Raceland between the 20s. But were able to score 2 rushing tds inside the 10 yd line. Raceland will have to develope that if they want tobe successful in late november.

Raceland is a more pass oriented team this year?

Yes. Much more verticle, especially. Thought they ran for less than 100 yds, they still rushed for 4 yards/carry. But yes, much more pass oriented team this year. 3 qbs had td passes. Lots of tallent and skill at the WR position. If Young gets time like he did this weekend, Raceland will be an extremely comptetive, "in the hunt", football team. If they can develop the run game a bit more as the year goes on, they will be a legit contender to rep the east. Still a ways off from that point though.

Good opener for the Rams.they are one of several contenders from the east.

Good to see that the burg isn't gonna be the only team with a passing attack there in the east. That seems to be what the difference was last year so Raceland apparently recognized that and has used that knowledge to benefit them this year.

East Carter is a 4a school. Ive said for along time now though, that we need to replace them with a better opponent. I think we scored more pts last night than they have over the last 5 years of the series. This is not a knock on East. They have had some descet/good teams in the past, but thy have had a rough go of things over the last decade or so. We will know more about Raceland after their game w Ashland. Im not sure if they are top 10 in 4A, but I know they are top 15. Usually stay around the top 5-10.

Im sorry, fat fingers on a little keypad. East is 3A

Ashland should be tough.

We shut baker down last year. Then Prince killed us on 2 long runs and Vaughn hurt us on 3rd downs. Now you add Long to that three headed monster. Fumbles and redzone stalls killed us. We should hace won by 2 tds last year. They got a stable of backs and a big line. Hope im wrong but im afraid they will wear us down upfront and ein by 2-3 scores.we will know what kind of season to expect after this Friday.

East Carter will be 4A starting next year though. East Carter, Greenup County, Ashland, Boyd County, and Rowan County are all bunched in there within around 30 male students of each other (421 to 455) with Rowan County now being the largest of the group.

Didnt know rowan was bigger than Ashland
