What is the right height to hang a deer stand?

I like to get around 20 ft. But it really depends on the terrain/surroundings. Some of my best stands are only 12-15ft.

Like catsrule said it depends on the terrain, most stands average between 12-18 ft, I have a few lockon stands that are in the 20-25 ft range.

I've harvested deer out of 10', 25', and on the ground. It's all about concealment, placement, and wind direction.

I don't think there's an ideal height!
