Corbin vs Middlesboro (Gridorama)
#61
SEKYFAN Wrote:I had to leave early, how did the Corbin subs look?

The score was 28-12 when the subs came in at 12:04
Corbin dominated the game from this point on, Middlesboro had trouble getting the ball out of the backfield. Corbin score came on a Sizemore pass didn't see who caught it.

The Outsider Wrote:Powers ran the ball very well and #15 had some good runs for corbin. Corbins qb played ok, needs to make his mind up quicker and not hold on to the ball so long. Their defense looked confused early but got better as the game went along.

the qb was told not to run the ball which is common in a scrimmage, you don't want to get your starting qb hurt in a scrimmage. If Taylor would have been allowed to run last night he would had a lot of yardage

RisingJackets Wrote:Middlesboro had 5 turnovers on the night and yet they still competed with Corbin. The final score of the starters was 21-12. Middlesboro scored within the first 4 plays. Regular season game, I think the outcome would be a lot differently. All in all good night for both school, attendance looked very well at the game.

I said in an earlier post Middlesboro had the best looking kids there. #5 and #25 were the best athletes on the field, and they got beat 28-12. IDK

No Dog in this fight. IMO Corbin looked good in spots and the Def. got better as game went fwd. Clay Co. has a lot of nice players #21 is the real deal. Clay Def has a long way to go. Bell looked good on offense and bad on defense. Bell will struggle early. Corbin may have a tough time with the 2 Pulaski Schools but will have a good year and make a strong run in play-offs. Middlesboro may be the best 2A Team in the East this year. People it's early all these teams will get better. Look for all of them to have good years. Good Luck to All. Thanks to the Corbin Fans and Coaching Staff for the hospitality. Enjoyed it to the MAX!!!!!!

Folks, I really believe that we have a good team and will get better. Coach Massengill is a class act.
I'm glad we don't have Corbin on regular schedule this year. Do you understand that two teams last night FIRST scrimmage. It wasn't for the two teams in Bell Co.
That makes a huge different!!!

Middlesboro is one of the teams that scrimmaged July 25-26 and never stop. They are in mid-season form. Along with Bourbon, Mercer and Boyle. Corbin's first, they will get much better.

I know you were asking someone else, but I was told that Thursday night was Middlesboro's 4th scrimmage. They went to camp and scrimmaged 3 other teams. That was Corbin's first. Proof? I have none, just a Middlesboro fan I was talking to told me.
#69
Haha when are you gonna stop with these false accusations. Khsaa isn't going to take action just because of some loud mouth on bluegrass rivals. Go back in your holler bobcat cause know one is listening to you.
#70
pjdoug .....Maybe the accident reports on the two kids that got hurt in the scrimmage.

Parents are concerned insurance will not cover it. Make no mistake the news is here in Harlan County it will be in Lexington.

If my baby got hurt scrimmaging 7 days before you were supposed to put pads on, schools and coaches would answer to me.
#71
If they got kids hurt, that is a different story. Not good.Confusedhh:
#72
Not one kid was hurt during camp. I'm positive of that.

FallenJacket, better get the memo to Jacket man. All you guys and coaches need to get on same page. Send memo to parents as well.

Bye bye flicka. Goodluck getting in contact with khsaa I'm sure they will listen to you.Confusednicker:

Another student that comes through the Middlesboro School System that can't read. Flicka's from Harlan County. Cumberland to be precise. Feather's getting ruffled because rules have been broken. I hope she calls to see if your new coaches will lie or tell the truth.

:thanks:

Make no mistake, Cumberland Redskin. FallenJacket words escape me. If you really want to know pm me, my husband and I would love to get to know you. LOL.

Wow, five turnovers and a pretty lackluster overall performance from a VETERAN Middlesboro squad. Corbin isn't chopped liver, but still, I was surprised that this one wasn't just a one-score win, either way.

And now the new head coach is publicly acknowledging that he will continue to play TWO quarterbacks? Things could get interesting and little ugly in the crater.
#80
Nervous are we.

I was not aware that it was illegal to scrimmage. Bell Co scrimmaged as many as we did. Not trying to get anything started, just was saying that Clay and Corbin hasn't scrimmaged anyone. I was told by Corbin booster and clay co coach.
Which I thought they were crazy for not scrimmaging.

Not only did Middlesboro scrimmage too many times, you scrimmaged 7 days before you were allowed to put pads on. I have no idea if Bell co did but I heard from Knox that Middlesboro was even at their camp. Probably nothing will happen, but with all those scrimmages you should've looked a little better Thursday night. On the quarterback situation, my question to the coach would be "how many quarterbacks does it take to hand it off to the best 2 running backs in southeastern Ky?"
#83
I don't know who or if they scrimmaged at camp. Why would you go to camp if you did!
My son came home Friday and said that the coaches was watch Bell and bullet co scrimmage on film @ London camp. I'm sure 90 % of the teams scrimmage several times.
#84
I'm not a coach and never have been.... Who is your team Shotgun?
#85
First of all, nobody watched a film of bell co. Scrimmaging bullit co. Just like nobody watched a film of Middlesboro scrimmaging at camp. You stuck your foot in your mouth because you don't know the rules and now trying to divert the attention. I am a fan of high school football. Don't have a particular team. I'm not from here, just calling it as I see it. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Pineville. Their coach seems to be the only class act around here.

Cumberland has been scrimmaging for months against Cawood and Evarts.they should be banned from football for cheatingConfusednicker:

Now the game has changed. Fan that did not know rule. Have you not read anything on this board?
#89
I wonder how good basketball would be in ky if they were restricted as much as football.
#90
Dang I watched the scrimmage. The back up QB for Middlesboro is good. With him in game it gives them another player on field. Don't be surprised if he plays a lot.
