Johnson Central 2014
#1
I'm the easy target for all the JC haters and the JC fans to bash on here... so I guess I'll get this thread started.

So let's hear it.

I'm sure podunker has ventured over to the Paintsville 2014 thread, since his favorite player transferred back home. Don't forget, "THE PLAYOFF IS COMING"

And I'm gonna guess that fb_fan will make his yearly appearance as well.

NotSoBadCat has so many different accounts on here, who knows what he's gonna post under.

I'm pretty sure JC will have a decent year... loosing several starters to graduation, transfers and other reasons will be a hurdle early on, but Im fairly certain that the Golden Eagles will end up 8-2, 9-1, 10-0 if we get some lucky bounces.

The Harlan County game will be a great early test. A long trip, against a team that has something to prove. This is also the first time in the Matney era that JC will have 3 straight road games (Perry Central, Harlan County & Boyd County)

The back to back home games with Ashland and Belfry in the last two weeks of the regular season should be epic battles in the current era. Ashland is looking to beat JC for the district title and Belfry will be looking for revenge after JC laid the smackdown last year at the CAM.

I wanna see Tyler Pack kick a field goal on top of the kroger building or into the softball field. He can do it....

God how I love fall Friday nights on the river bank in Johnsonville!!!!

Ok, let the PM's start rolling in

If you aren't making at least SOMEBODY mad, you probably aren't doing your job.

That being said, I got wins vs Fairland and Mastery Charter North and at Perry Central, a loss at an angry Harlan County, wins over Boyd County and Warrensville Heights and Greenup County. I'm afraid Baker will finally have his breakout game against us, although Matney seems to have Ashland's number. Looks like Belfry is bringing back a ton of young talent and appears to have added some more. I got ya a 7-3 regular season with a second round playoff loss. This team lost a LOT and I think it's still another season away (when this last 8th grade state champ team are sophomores) from being ready to contend for state championships. And I mean ACTUALLY contend. I think a couple of those kids get significant playing time on varsity this year, and I think the best team in Central history is about to happen within the next four years. But this year's team, while it will have plenty of moments, just lost too much manpower. I hope they put together a great season; if so, Coach Matney will prove even further what a great football coach he is. The things I KNOW: we'll have plenty of fans behind us, the future is bright, and we'll have the target on our back everywhere we go. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Go Eagles!

First of all Bob Seger and I made mince meat out of NotSoBadCat last year. I was terrified to come to Johnson Central to play, and when I got there I absolutely LOVED it!!! Even your dumb music!!

Second bold: Our only losses was a three game losing streak in mid-season last year, all on the road. Johnson Central was away game #2 in that loss, so I know how that can effect a team.

Last bold: You don't know what a river bank is!!! LOL Wait, just wait til you have to walk over our stoned arched bridge over the Cumberland River just to get to the stadium! LOL Talk about football on the riverbank!!! Watch out of water snakes!

Go Black Bears!!!!

Good luck Eagles!!!

Whats the backfield going to look like? Belcher is gone to Paintsville, Young graduated i believe. Who is in position to be the lead rb? I know Matney has always been able to put 3 rbs back there at any given time. Who will be under center?

Wait? Your asking how the team looks like this season? Meaning you have no idea yet what JC have coming into the season, but yet your predicting a 9-1 season?

Hey cornhusker, you need to get those hogs slopped this morning . Then you can start running your mouth.

Bob Seger Wrote:Hey cornhusker, you need to get those hogs slopped this morning . Then you can start running your mouth.

Robert, first of all who is running they're mouth? Read what you fellow Eagle fanatic wrote and all I did was ask why he would predict that type of season IF HE HAS NO IDEA YET OF WHAT TYPE OF TEAM JC IS GOING TO HAVE THIS YEAR. Would you yourself predict a 9-1 season, not knowing what type of team or returning you would have Robert?
#16
Since Matney arrived at JC (2004 season)...

We have played team from the following States and Countries.

Ohio
West Virginia
Mississippi
North Carolina
Indiana
Pennsylvania
2 different teams from Canada

I remember when it was rare for JC to play anybody outside of the 606 area code.

Gosh cornhusker, personally I think the first thing that I would do would be to learn how to spell "their" correctly before I questioned anyone else's thought process. Now that's just me though.

FBfan4life Wrote:Wait? Your asking how the team looks like this season? Meaning you have no idea yet what JC have coming into the season, but yet your predicting a 9-1 season?

Kind of asking about the backfield. I know they lost belcher, young and the QB. I know Workman kid is playing QB this yr. also I know Fairland OH, Mastery Charter PA and Warrensville are not great teams I don't believe either of them went over .500 last cpl of seasons. They beat perry central
Last season 53-7, beat Boyd 69-14 last season, greenup
54-0, Rowan 59-10, Harlan 36-14 ,Ashland at Ashland 42-7 and belfry at belfry 54-28 the state champ belfry. So I figure Matney was able to play younger kids throughout last season 2nd half games.
Also FBfanlife asking how the incoming 2012 7th and 2013 8th grade now fr class is working out. Seeing if any key freshman are stepping up this season.
I based may 9-1 season on Harlan at Harlan co, Or Baker Ashland having a great game or belfry coach Haywood figuring out go how to stop the eagles. That's the 1 lose

Wow:worthy: Grammar police:policeman. Great comeback brother. Eagleland thanks for verifying your theory on your prediction. That's all I wanted to know. As far as Robert is concern, he is just bitter cause no one else gives them any love in NKY, CKY Lou Metro. Hey perhaps next season, when 4A is water down and all the powerhouse are gone ie. Boyle Co, Lex Cath, Cov Cath and FTH are gone, you might just get over the hump and hoist one:1: Good luck this season JC and try to stay away from teams above mention come playoff time.
#21
I have heard some talk in the rumor mill of a Raceland/Johnson Central home and home swries starting up next year? While competitively, I dont know if Raceland can ever do anything other than take a 30-50 pt loss, but I know Raceland would benefit alot from the game and it would be a good gate for both schools. Raceland is almost like a "mini" JC. In the fact that they have had several good teams, that if not for one or two power house buzz saws in their region, would have several semi appearances and possibly a few state titles. I for one would love to see the series start up.

lol.....Tell you what there cornhusker, I am waaay more interested right now in hearing your perspective on what happened to those mighty Commodores in the state baseball tournament....Since you are into all this powerhouse BS, I noticed that you never offered the Golden Eagles a big congrats for dismantling "your" boys in the state baseball tournament. You "coach" some of those guys too....I think that you are on record as touting the 11th region as being so superior to us country bumpkins. How 'bout it oh arrogant one with his head stuck up his hind end!!!!! How's that for "getting over the hump and hoisting one".Confusednicker:

WOW! Lets change up the topic to baseball. Sure JC nipped an 11th region powerhouse in baseball, but then again 11th region has won several/ multiple state champ.. Dunbar, LCA, Lafayette, Lex Cath and Creek. Should we add 11th region basketball as well? Cause they too have several/ multiple state champs. And sorry I don't do anything up my hind end. That's for the banjo folks.

More like you got it shoved up your hind end and you had to like it!!!!:lmao:

Hey, by the way did you happen to make it to that game? I didn't know if you got off work over there at Coldstream in time to make it or not.TongueirateShoTongueirateShoTongueirateSho
