Mayfield Cardinals 2014
James_Odom Wrote:Ive seen actual footage of spring training and cant say im impressed. if thompson county meet them on thier bad day the thompson county couriers would stomp them off the field. Mayfields center looks promising and they got a great tight end always have. But thompson county is the one to watch this year be it westren string or whereever if your into hs football in general.

Who is thompson county and what is westren string?Confusednicker:

theyre a small division in illnois that practices at west ky tech some. string is considered fourth third second and first like branches. they used to practice under coach haywood in east ky who won all those lifetime achievements awards. im shocked theyre not on here much
So, they are going to play high school ball this year? I've never heard of them.

theyre practicing here at west ky tech, then in november they hope to hold an open invatational to alot of smaller district like elsner county and dremel central. fulton counties was beat by like 60 points in alot of earlier years thompson county can do it by 80 points and not even break for gatorade Smile

I'm confused about this team that I've never heard of. I don't see them on khsaa site or on our schedule. I guess we should be okay then.
Its not fair to try and compare mayfield or any other class a school to thompson county illinois. Its amazing with numbers that low that they have never lost a game to anyone in their class. They are unbeatable, im going to go out on a limb and say they are on the level of trinity.
I'm glad you could clear that up Killbilly. I didn't know who the heck he was speaking of.

its funny there was mclean county traveled to thompson county in the spring of 83, thats was back when mclean had a decent team and they actually showed thompson better plays than just a hail mary pass, it was until 1988 when trigg county and union county sent thier teams to thompson county and by 1990 they were both well oiled machines, i bet if you did your research these mayfield and caldwell has sent thier players to train with wes looms and bill mayers as well but noone ever wants the truth to be known.

I think wes looms, and bill mayers have a big part in the big camp that is going on in oregon right now that is on espn u every night. Hoover al is a powerhouse thanks to wes looms he built them from the ground up, kinda like jack morris took mayfield to the next level. Valdosta ga was at its best under bill mayers, but have fallen off since he left for thompson county. The other big time coach there besides them 2 is kip the rock roberts best linebackers coach in the nation, he used to coach at usc. Looms is a skill position guru, and mayers is a line specialist. The special team master is big d odom, former staff member of the pittsburg steelers. As pathetic as the cowboys has been i doubt they could beat thompson county. I dont think anyone from kentucky has ever trained there, so i think you are wrong on mayfield training there. Barry sanders i think used to get alot of training with looms.

Sure it is, ole Thompson county is that school we contacted about playing and they refused, surely you guys recall it, they finally agreed to a scrimmage that was a blood letting for them. They had their feel of ole Mayfield then and won't be calling on us after the butt stomp they gotTongueirateSho

You know i remember that beatdown mayfield put on them, i think me and you almost put down almost a dozen hotdogs that night. I have heard they are next level now. Apparently they do alot of recruiting now. They are the oak hill academy of high school football now. I think the whole thing is shady with all these former coaches going there to be assistants. James odom apparently doesnt want to remember that scrimmage, and i cant believe 55 hasnt called him out yet what was the final score of that i cant remember the score after all those beers me and you had that night wasnt that around the state title year of 86.
James odom should probably worry about his own team, but he is embarassed to bring them up to much on a mayfield thread. I know this cause he is dear dear friend. He is a crittenden county rocket fan. I hope they can win more games than they did last year.
Crittendon will be on the rise the next 2 years. They were starting several freshmen and sophomores last season. I have a buddy that coached some of them in football.
Our first practice is Tue.
mysonis55 Wrote:Our first practice is Tue.

Keep us posted on how things are going 55, and james odom you should start a crittenden county thread, and one also for your adopted team thompson county.
55 dont get odom's hopes up on crittenden, now he will be overhyping them. They lost 44-0 to a 1-10 marshall team, crittenden had about 3 wins but they were against some teams that werent very good to put it politely. The guy is 2 apples, and an orange shy of a fruitbasket. Im not sure he has ever even watched a high school football game, he is in to it now cause he has kin on the team this year.
I remember a few years back when Crittendon was pretty good. I don't know what happened.
Webster county will be the future out west. :welcome:
Webster Co???? Are you serious?

Just a hint from 64SUR :Cheerlead

I think 64 is a pro baseball player. on a basketball post all he could talk about was homeruns Confusednicker:
He is a blast.

in 78 hugo dinga flew in personally from cuba carried a torch to thompson county indiana not illinois i dont know where people are getting illnois at? and picked out sanders looms valdosta through to 82 where looms and myers suffered a trsagic accident last october game against mclean county they slipped on some ice in the parking lot and fell neck to neck injuring 2 vertabraes and causing mclean to win by an 88 to 2 points, this caused a great depression to fall high school sports wide till 87 after the motley crue tour then did mandinga step up and played again to the jr school and they overtook winning the touchback against whitley belfry mayfield and harlan ending in carrer of davy jones and ralph malph.
mysonis55 Wrote:I remember a few years back when Crittendon was pretty good. I don't know what happened.
crittenden back in early 90s was only seperate from caldwell and graves resulting in coaches from crimson tides cousins to help overflow the throw into 2000 but in back fired, spring session of 2002 the trainers engulfed the team into a meal at a local resturant where the tides cousins rivals worked suddenly trips to the e.r. was the dessert and a team fell sick through that year.
