1A Spring prognostication
Killer in the Sun Wrote:Mayfield was in their correct class for their school size but they play a higher level of ball than most in 1A and always have. Mayfield has been in class A for 18 years and they have won 6 titles and 3 runner up ,with one more season to go. The dilution of class 1A when they went to 6 classes made it much easier for Beechwood and Mayfield but when there was Danville and NCC in there , it was a much harder class. Williamsburg, Fairview would have never made it to the finals in the old days.

So that would be at the very least going to the big dance every other year. 10 shots at the title in 20 years is impressive. Win or lose, but, even more impressive, in the last 20 years they have 7 titles in 10 chances. Thats really something special. Just curious, other than Hazard, who beat MF in the chsmpionships they losses and by how much? Who was their closest opponent in the finals?
98 we lost to Miidlesboro
05 we lost to NCC
09 we lost to LCA
11 we lost to Hazard
Who was your closest opponent? NCC/DANVILLE had a classic battle in 06 and Beechwood/LCA had a close game in the late 2000s. Does Mayfield pretty much blow people out or lose by a close margin? Or have you all been blasted?

Will lose to Williamsburg in 2014. Confusednicker:
64, you are outside your mind. That is if you had one. The burg will be lucky to play within 2 touchdowns of us. You can write it down.

I just wrote it down Mysonis55. The honeymoon is over. Confusederiously:
1976 we lost to Corbin 0-6
1977 we beat Corbin 14-13
1978 we beat Somerset 22-6
1985 we beat NCC 18-8
1986 we beat NCC 21-20 in ot
1987 we lost to Danville 23-24 in ot
1989 we lost to Danville 3-7
1991 we lost to Danville 14-17
1992 we lost to Danville 7-34
1993 we beat Prestonburg 13-12
1995 we beat Beechwood 28-27
1998 we lost to Middlesboro 6-27
2002 we beat Beechwood 14-7
2005 we lost to NCC 7-42
2009 we lost to LCA 19-55
2010 we beat Hazard 47-6
2011 we lost to Hazard 6-24
2012 we beat Fairview 55-8
2013 we beat Williamsburg 42-0
Thats quite a resume.
Those Danville games were killers. We finally got them in the semis in 2002.
Scotty_Bronson Wrote:Raceland's 2008 team that lost to LCA by 3 in the region finals, would have thumped the Rams first regional champs. The difference? Lineman who were not just fast, but auick off the line and LOW. Last year's line was great, but thy stood straight up alot of the time and leaned on people. They all had alot of upside though and their auickness is what got them their schollarships. This years squad is no where near as big, id say the line will look like this:

LT Greg Bowling 6"/220
LG Caden Townsed 6'2/240
C Lucas Bradley 6"/290
RG Morgan Carmen 5'10 230
RT Isaac Wallace 6'2/290-300

All of them are incredibly mobie. Wallace and Carmen will be nightmares for DEs, OLB, and FS on pulls. The boys arent as tall, most arent as big, but they are quicker and imo have better technique.

I like how these big guys worked their tails off all season opening holes you could have gained 20yds a play if you yourself were running Scotty, then as soon as they graduate, they aren't worth the hole in the middle of a doughnut.

If the W'burg game was played at Raceland, the outcome would have been a lot different. Three of those linemen had played both sides of the ball all year long, playing in extreme heat, thru cramps in their legs, thru injuries, giving their all to help win a Regional Championship for their school and community. Don't think that feat had ever been accomplished.

These young men still deserve our support and respect, I think they earned that much. And good luck to this years team, I see a bright future for Ram Nation. GO RAMS!!!

I doubt it. I can't think of 1 school
Mayfield has more enrollment than any other class A school.
Killer in the Sun Wrote:I doubt it. I can't think of 1 school

Why sunshine help 1A schools don't forget about the little guys. :Cheerlead
Idk how anyone can gripe about Mayfields numbers. The KHSAA is who sets the cutoff lines. Each year, someone has to have higher enrollment numbers than anyone in class A. It's like that for every class. Someone's got to be the biggest.
I'm not gripping, I guess Obama is doing a great things for Mayfield I like giving credit to the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Confusedalute:

We are lucky Mayfield in the east Scotty_Bronson or we all would have to retire from BGR.....Confusederiously:
If Mayfield was in the East...well...lets not even go there.
Allen central has the highest numbers per the realignment numbers, and nobody has complained one time about them. But yall have about mayfield 64 dozen times.

I complain about going to work Killerbilly. I will be in 2A nexts year complaining also. Cheering for my hometown Leslie County I just hope this little I-pad holds up...because I want buy another one. :Sad04:
How many other 2a teams do you have 64?

If your team won the title you would complain that the temperature wasnt just right for the post game trophy ceremony. Yall should take a lesson from hazard. Even with the injuries mayfield had they would have got dumptrucked in 2011 if they had this mayfield has more boys mentality, and its unfair that we have to play them. Dont worry about the things you cant control, and play the game. Hazard is a champion because they didnt go in to that game defeated. Im sure there fans are proud and wont ever forget that day.
Killbilly, can you plz quit bringing that up. Give me at least ten more years before you mention that game again plz.
Goina cut 64s legs out from under him and beat him to it..."thats not the only day ur goina want drove from ur memory"...the burg is coming 55!!!!(with all do respect) man that fella is a piece of work. Goina miss the likes of u two when ur off to 2A and he is supporting Leslie County, Newfoundland, The Coocuhmunga Cracker Killers, Louisville, UK, Switzerland, and the rest of Eastern Civilization.
He does have many many teams. He has made it fun on here for the past 2 years. When he learns how to spell I think he will be even funnier. I heard he is going to graduate 6th grade in 2020.

I was hoping I wouldn't see that stupid sign all year.
mysonis55 Wrote:I was hoping I wouldn't see that stupid sign all year.

I could being seeing it a lot this year. or will i Confusednicker:
I don't think I will see it as much this year. That is coming off the BG game. That and the fact that the sole proprieter of that sign has now adopted 30 some odd more teams.
I think he needs to add a second line on that sign. Just below you got served it should say by the Cardinals.
