SEKYFAN Wrote:Who has applied from Corbin? Ledington, Bonza, Rogers? You got one right, Leddington. You could probably guess one of the other ones, but there is one more I would bet you would never guess.

Bo Roaden?

Ledington would be a good hire. Bonza and Rogers wwould be very good assistants if she could get either one to come. That would bring Knox Central back to respectability.

Sizemore would be a better hire than Ledington.

I would have never guessed this one. From my understanding he was the first person to inquire about the job.

Willard won a lot of games back in the day at Corbin.

This Dinosaur needs to RETIRE!!! As far as the rest of the Corbin hopefuls......Knox better think long and hard before hiring them....this would only be a stepping stone to try to get back to Corbin in the future in a higher position than they are currently in. Their allegence will always be with the hounds! Be smart Knox Co. get someone who really wants to be there for the long haul.

I REALLY like and respect WF and think he is a great guy and has been a very good coach in a few sports. I am a older guy myself and have seen so many coaches try to hang on and keep coaching when they shouldn't. These are different type of kids today with different types of agenda's. It's next to impossible to connect with them when you have such a huge cultural gap. I would suggest to any program, including Knox to go with someone who is younger but settled and like wizzard said is willing to stay for the long haul. Knox will not be rebuilt in a year. They have some good young kids but it will take 3 years in my opinion to really get it going.

I totally agree Knox Central will not be a quick fix. This thing will have to be build from the ground up. I hope they hire a good young coach and get them a top notch staff.

Who did Knox hire ??

I think it will be at least the middle of May before they start interviewing.

I think it may be Amanda Brimm Vermillion she coached at McCreary Middle school last year, I hear that John Harris may be her assistant he played intramurals at Cumberland College in the early 80's. This will be a great hire look for them to really get this team on the right path and compete for a district tite next year.

It would surprise me if they hired her unless noone else showed much interest in the job

Who did they name as new coach at Williamsburg
05-31-2014, 06:35 AM
Amanda Brimm Vermillion is the new girls coach at WHS. I expect to see several transfers from Whitley Co to Williamsburg because of this hire. Smart move by the WHS board!

Board did not hire. Nor was there a hiring committee. Superintendent makes all hires at Williamsburg. I like amanda and hope she does well.

As redstorm said, Knox would be the go to place if you want to build a program and know what your doing. Your district competition is Bville, Lynn Camp, and Pineville. Knox should win that district every single year.

Middlesboro is now open. Teachers and students are leaving here at an alarming rate.
