BOWLING GREEN — Hello Final Four!

Ashland defeated Danville 64-55 on Friday afternoon at Diddle Arena to reach the Girls State Tournament semifinals for the first time in the modern era.

The Kittens will play Saturday night at 7:30 (EST) in the first semifinal game.

Ashland and Danville played to a 24-24 stalemate in the first half but the Kittens took control. The Lady Admirals led 28-24 but a 7-0 run put the Kittens ahead 31-28.

Danville answered again, taking the lead 34-33, but Ashland scored five in a row and never looked back. The biggest lead was 11 points.

Haley-Sue Foutch overcame early foul trouble - four in the first half - to finish with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Kittens.

It was the 26th win of the season for the Kittens of coach Bill Bradley, who were making their third consecutive trip to the State Tournament.
