Longer floor at the arena
#1
Just wondering why the floor at the arena is longer than the floors the kids play on all year? This seems totally ridiculous to me! Does anyone have a definite answer and will it continue to be that way in years to come?

I may be wrong so correct me if I am, but the court is an old Orlando Magic practice court. I'm guessing the court is the same size as the one in Rupp, the only thing that really matters is the foul line, three point line and the hoop being ten feet from the floor, nothing else has any effect on the game.

Dont know about the practice floor or not but I do know that it is 16 longer than high school courts. It should be the same as rupp arena as far as size.

I'm not sure how long it is, but I do know that is was longer that the Generals run in the tourny.:biglmao:

Floor is same size for both teams.....
#6
Who cares as long as the baskets are 10 ft. and free throw line is 15 ft. Nothing else matters.

Gets kids ready for Rupp

You can definitely tell the people who have not been to the big dance before. Everybody knows that the court is bigger at Rupp. Well, I guess the people that have been there.

It kills me that people always look for an excuse when they lose. Work kids hard and prepare them for game

A regulation high school court is 84' by 50'. Both NBA and college courts are 94' X 50'. An international court is 91' by 50'. I don't know of any 100' courts

Wow. I knew the floor at Rupp is bigger EINSTEIN anddone. I was told it was an old NBA floor and it was that was longer than a college floor. If it's the same as Rupp, then fine. Wasn't making excuses for a loss either. The floor had nothing to do with it.

I didn't think he would ever be back on after Lawson and Collier transfer..

Don't take this as the gospel, but I really thought that for the last several years the floor at Rupp was shortened to actual high school length. If you go to the state tournament look at the panels around the hash marks on each end of the court and you can see that the pattern of the panels is different. I thought I read that somewhere a few years ago, too. I know it used to be college length but I am pretty sure it's high school length now.

You wish! Who would keep you in line if I wasn't around BUBBA? Who would you tell all your funny Wal-Mart jokes? Who will laugh in your face when Clay finally lose? Haha. Collier tweeted that he loved Jackson and would definitely be back after the loss against Corbin. Mike has also said that he is going nowhere. Same story with Lawson. I really don't know where you're getting your information BUBBA. To the contrary, we will be adding 2 instead of losing 2. Sorry, but take it to the bank.
We've give each other hell this year BUBBA and probably will next year too, but if Clay does make it to Rupp( I still hope they don't.Lol) know that I'll be for my 13th region. When Chip is at UK next year or whenever, I'll also be pulling for him and following him closely. He is a class act and has the General's respect.Great kid. It has been fantastic watching him and Fox battle it out the last 2 years and I'm going to miss it.

I had heard that the ARENA floor was a little longer than a college floor so I thought I would ask,but it turns out it wasn't. I think I'm more confused than ever. If what you're saying is true walter, wouldn't it make sense for us to play on the same length floor? I know some other regions play their tournament on a college floor, but I am just thinking of the 13th for now.

I may be totally off base but I thought Rupp used a different floor for high school games.
