Its not all PCC fans. Just a few homers. True fans know turnovers n missed free throws cost us the game.

If you watched the game the bad officiating started way before the missed free throws and pcc had just made 1 turnover when the one way officiating started.
Even after all of that what about when tobler "charged". I thought it was a bad cll when it happened but after I watched the film it was even worse that I thought. That could have possibly tied the game.

Shannon had nothing to do with ur players missing free throws. U make those front ends it changes the course of the game. I would not blame this on coaching. Its choking not coaching.

The reason justice gets fouled so much is because no one can guard him. Esp late in games. Another reason he has shot so many free throws because knott keeps the ball in his hands late. He usually makes his 1an1 free throws also.

I believe the 14th is the best from top to bottom in the state, I saw 3 D1 players put it on the line , it is sad that a team had to lose I truly believe that the14th has an excellent chance of bringing the big one home. I think there is going to be more to come, Cordia and Hazard will be a barn burner, Knott better not over look their next game. To be the best you have to beat the best, IMO Cordia will win it all.

Here is what I have to say before I read any of the golden commentary that I'm sure this thread is laced with....

Shannon coached a great game. He came in with a plan that if the players executed for four quarters would have won them the game. It would have kept Justice from getting hot and it allowed them to move the ball through the defense that Knott threw at them.

They did great for three quarters and a couple minutes... they took their biggest lead of the game early in the fourth and then committed three STRAIGHT turnovers. That was the turning point! Don't let anyone tell you any different!

Then with a chance to tie or take the lead they missed the front end of two one-and-ones and Tobler charged with a chance to tie the game after catching a big break by Camron missing a free throw. That sealed the game for Knott (assuming they got the ball in and made their free throws - which they did).

Knott's been the best team this year and Perry gave them all they could handle. They'll represent the 14th well if they finish out this tournament.

Congrats to Justin Johnson, Tyler Fugate, John Toomer and John Begley on their careers and best of luck in the future.
As mentioned by another user on this thread, Hatcher isn't immune to late game collapses. From my biased POV Perry, overall, was on the better side of the block charges. Austin Neace (I believe) took about 3 and I was livid at the sliding under that was done. However, it all boils down to Knott switching to pressure defense which my KCC brethren will hopefully agree with me when I say we were holding our breath thinking that for the millionth time, BB wasn't going to put any pressure on. Being down 9 made it a dire situation and he pulled the trigger and was the aggressor in the 4th. That's been my biggest ciritism of BB over the years. He might have to do the same thing again if we manage to advance.

Haha
I remember that
Great game...great effort by both teams. Best of luck to the Patriots!

Confusederiously:
How many did Camron have in the first half and how many did he end up scoring for the game?
Just wanted to say that as a Cordia fan, I hated to see Perry Central lose the game. Despite what happened in the PCC/Cordia game and SOME peoples best efforts to keep that whole thing going, I have nothing but respect for PCC! And I know that I speak for most Cordia fans and players as well when I say that. I've always felt that if one school was ever on our side it was PCC. After they beat us in the region last year, their team was extremely nice to our boys! I also heard some of their students defending Cordia last year when everybody else was spewing their garbage. So, I can honestly say that I felt really bad for PCC players last night. They played a great game, it just got away from them at the end. The Perry faithful should be very proud of their team and their students, they have a great group of kids! Good Luck to all their seniors in their future endeavors and the best of luck to PCC next year. I also want to wish Johnson the best of luck at WKU and hope he has great success!

I don't remember him scoring at all the first half. If he did, I didn't see it.
Last night's game is what high school sports is all about. Great competition, great environment, and two teams battling until the end.

I will say that Camron Justice plays at a level above anyone in the 14th region. The region has some great players, but Justice is a cut above. He provided Knott with the will to win the game last night. His leadership, confidence, and determination is off the charts.

I thought Perry had a great game plan and executed well. The things that cost Perry the game were the turnovers and missed free throws. It hurt having Tobler in foul trouble, but did not cost them the game. Neace played an excellent game for Perry on both ends of the court.

I'm sure all these kids will take something positive from this game and become better. This is what the 14th region needs to be known for.

Now on to tonight's game. It should be a good one.
Hey listen congrats to PCC good game, Johnson I hope you have a great collage career. Ballstar I was at the same game as you and I seen it totally different than you, don't need to watch any tape I was close enough to the floor and I can see pretty good still. Hitter I kind of think you and that friend of yours need to get off the bottle because neither one of you has a clue to anything happening.i think there were calls both ways, but they called all the fouls from last night Justice would still be at the gym shooting free throws.
MidnightRider Wrote:I actually enjoy watching Knott play I've said that before and if they go outta the 14th I'll support them. Having coached in central Ky and played there I value mountain basketball much more and enjoy it much more. I've been around the block and I call things like I see them and I've never seen a team get protected or a player like these guys. I actually sit behind some Knott fans tonight who were nice people but sadly I didn't get names. They, like me, stated Knott got some help and came away with a win. I'm a realist guys and I know how officiating works. Down in central Ky the jokes on the mountain teams comes down to who's who and being protected. Trust me on that.

Just remember midnight rider when you sit down and look at you computer and your getting ready to touch your keyboard say this to yourself " I'm getting ready to embarrass myself, so I'm not touching this keyboard!"

I guarantee there was not ONE KCC fan that stated "Knott got some help".

You should be ashamed to claim to be a coach and then blame officials because a team got beat!!! Probably why your not still coaching you biddy league team!!!

By the way, and I'm gonna go ahead and speak for most on this board, we don't give a rat's a$$ what central Ky think about the mountain teams!!! KCC and PCC would both probably win the 10th and 11th regions this year!!!

I'm sure KCC doesn't need or want your support!!!
From my POV, Justice could not have bought a basket or threw one in the ocean the first half. I thought mid-way through the second quarter that he wasn't going to hit a jump shot. Hall was who kept them in the game the first half. Came out of the half and started to get going a little bit in the third. But when he hit that fall away jumper in the corner then made all 3 free throws when he got fouled, I had a feeling Perry County was in trouble. I mean honestly, PCC was up 9 with what? 3 minutes left? I was baffled at the fact they weren't trying to melt some clock (Kudos to Knott on the half court trap in the fourth). Even when the game was in the final minute and PCC had a chance to take the lead, both Toomer and Beverly misses the front end of the one and one.

Back to Justice, he was unstoppable. Scored 20 points in the fourth with someone draped all over him. PCC was apparently blind (KCC did it every possession for the last 3 minutes) that they were just setting two screens for him up top and he scored about 12 points off that. Unbelievable player.

To Johnson, I got to see him play quite a few times in his tenure, and he was a very impressive, explosive player. Wish him all the best at WKU.

I may take some heat, but Beverly is an outstanding player and has a bright future and one of the quickest players with the ball in his hand I have seen in some time, but I feel for him because I think he'll always be compared to Justice and he just doesn't. He'll be in the shadows of him until he 1. Beats him when it counts or 2. Justice graduates.

Knott County to the Championship seems like a done deal, if they win it, I believe they can make some noise up in Lexington.

You will not get any heat from me, like you said Beverly is a great guard and extremely quick. I really feel he will do great in the future also.

Just to be honest I've probably forgot more about the game than have the ppl coaching on the sidelines. W/ that being said I feel Toomer and Beverly done a Hell of a job on Cam the first 26 mins of the game and I think ppl will back me on that. Beverly got called for 3 consecutive fouls in 45 secs early in the 4th quarter and I thought 1 of them was actually a foul. That being said the charge call of Johnson w/ PCC up 9 w/ 4:30 mins to go was a TERRIBLE call and I think most KCC fans will agree w/ that one. It was a huge call since Johnson made the bucket. PCC controlled their own destiny but let it slip away. This had ZERO to do w/ coaching. I'm happy for Hoskins and he coached a great game. Players decide the outcome of games IMO and KCC players decided they wanted it more.
Does anyone know the capacity in PCs gym?

It was packed plus some
Nothing personal Ballstar, it's just a difference of opinions is all.
There was a lot of people that left right after the 1st game, but it filled right back up and then some. It was a huge crowd and probably will be tonight also.
hitter Wrote:But knott scored 8 or 9 straight points on missed or bad calls from the refs. If you weren't at the game and didn't watch it you can't understand how bad it was
Oh I was there. It amazes me how fans want to make excuses about officiating. Nobody ever just loses these days, the officiating wasn't as bad as what you may want to think it was. Don't miss free throws and at least halfway know what to do against a trap and PCC wins this game.
I heard someone say there was 4,000 plus in the gym last night?

It feels good to be a Patriot Fan today, they never let us down. They fight and fight till the end.

Breathitt won't be an easy game and neither will the championship, but I see a 3-peat shirt in my future.
Warthog Wrote:How many did Camron have in the first half and how many did he end up scoring for the game?

1st half = 0
2nd half = 28

He was held scoreless in the 1st half. He had 8 points in the third, and 20 in the 4th.
Congrats KCC on the win.

Great game by PCC. Good luck to all the seniors.

Cameron Justice is plain and simple a flat out BALLER!!!!!!!
