The only thing that needs to be said about this game is that it was a true mountain classic that people will be talking about for years. No one was cheated and it is a shame that anyone would even say this and take anything away from the players involved. Pcc made mistakes and mised ft's down the stretch and kcc took advantage of it. Pcc played with a ton of heart as did kcc. A twenty point fourth quarter on this stage in this atmosphere is unbelievable! Great game and both teams were class acts tonight in my book.

Great game to be at, Justice is really a special player. It was an absolutely amazing atmosphere. Still can't believe Perry let a 9 point lead slip late in the game.

Does anyone have the foul count?? Before we go any further w/ this I would just like to know. I'm not saying that beat PCC because I thought pcc gave it away. I thought Cam did get away w/ a few push off's but I guess that's the way it goes. The one thing I would say is that Cam is a great player and he lights PCC up every game they play but I don't like the way he talks back to the refs. Not sure why he does but if that were Johnson or anyone else i think they get a T called. He is a great player but I think he should stop doing that! No player needs to talk back to refs. JMO.

He is the captain. They usually talk to the refs throughout the game. Laughable.

I understand what captain is I was one myself. I love the kid and his game but I don't like that. If it was my son I would say the same thing. I have said that on here b4 about other kids like Johnson. I just don't like it.

I actually enjoy watching Knott play I've said that before and if they go outta the 14th I'll support them. Having coached in central Ky and played there I value mountain basketball much more and enjoy it much more. I've been around the block and I call things like I see them and I've never seen a team get protected or a player like these guys. I actually sit behind some Knott fans tonight who were nice people but sadly I didn't get names. They, like me, stated Knott got some help and came away with a win. I'm a realist guys and I know how officiating works. Down in central Ky the jokes on the mountain teams comes down to who's who and being protected. Trust me on that.

Captains do but he usually gives the refs an ear full.

Knots 2-2-1 half court trap was superb and rattled PCC

I watched Tobler get put in a head lock to be called a jump ball. I watched Beverly get thrown to the ground and no whistle. I watched Johnson finally show me a nice post move that was clean to be called a foul on him. I watched Justice give officials an ear full and get a call on the other end right after. Yeah I watched.Glad you made it to the game. Hope you can make it back Monday.

Every time justice had the ball he was bumped and rode like a mule, and every time Braxton guarded him he had a hand full of jersey, I'm not saying there wasn't bad calls the other way but it wasn't as one sided as is being said.

Perry did have more fouls, but they really played physical the whole game.

Not sure what game you was watching but Beverly and Toomer was playing great defense. Watch the tape! I mean they may bump Cam he he cuts but all players bump the cutter. EVERYTIME Beverly would pass and go through Simon, Chance and Evan would bump him. That's part of the game IMO.
PCC's wings throwing the ball to KCC against the 2-2-1 and free throws was what beat PCC. I will say that midway through the 3rd quarter the foul count was 17 on PCC and 3 on KCC. That was 1st half and halfway through the 3 quarter. Not sure what the final tally was.

I knew it was lopsided, but their physical play resulted in numerous fouls.
Very good game

17-3? Wow. And you people say "officiating" has no outcome. 17 fouls to 3 fouls that's HUGE!

I don't have a dog in this fight, but PCC fans say want you want, the refs didn't take this game from you. It is inexcusable to have a 9 point lead with 4 minutes left and to lose. The Commodores can blame missed free throws and falling apart against the half court trap for the loss tonight.

^ I agree. KCC just has PCC's number right now and they can't seem to get over the hump. I thought PCC had a great game plan and it worked to perfection until the last few minutes. KCC is just the better team and they deserved to win. I guess it's back to recruiting and try to get better for PCC. Lol

Knott plays zone with very little pressure for three quarters, Perry was in Justice face all night and playing aggressive defense for 4 quarters. It's as simple as that. Perry did everything right for 3.5 quarters and gave Knott a small window and they capitalized. Championship level play.
03-06-2014, 12:57 AM
^ I agree. When Cam hit that 3 w/ about 4 mins to go I knew PCC was in for a fight. Can't allow him to get good looks because he makes you pay & he did.

Knott county playing zone is what allows them to stay out of foul trouble. They know foul trouble will lead to their doom because of there lack of depth. Very good gameplan down the stretch with the halfcourt trap to take the ball out of Beverly's hands. Every time Beverly beat the first trap it was two points. When he passed wing or corner out of trap it was a to. As I said, VERY good gameplan by Knott co. Justice is as cold blooded as any player in the mountains in the last 30 yrs. With the game on the line, in the fourth quarter, there is nobody I would rather have.

i like what someone said on here. PCC will have another play b4 the end of the year is up. that is some funny shit, but it is true.
03-06-2014, 01:34 AM
^ I hope your right because they will surely need a couple to compete w/ KCC, HHS and Cordia next year.

If Cameron shot ft's every time he was bumped held or grabbed he would shoot 50 free throws a game. Give this young man credit he gets rode like a mule every night and plays through it. He gets double and triple teamed every game and averages close to thirty. When it is all said and done he will be IMO the best player to ever play in the 14 th if not eastern ky. Possibly four regional championships and over 4000 points. WOW!!He is a great player but is no where near being the best ever in the 14th. Ben Bowling could spot him 20 n beat him to 24 when Ben was in highschool.

Also imo if Hatcher was still coaching PCC, with a nine point lead and only four minutes left, no way Perry would have lost. Shannon got out coached.

But knott scored 8 or 9 straight points on missed or bad calls from the refs. If you weren't at the game and didn't watch it you can't understand how bad it was

He hit that three after a missed call by the refs that people say can't change the game. KFC players were lining up to play defense because they knew the ball went out of bounds on them but somehow they got the ball and justice hit the three

Hatcher team had a ten point lead with 2 minutes to go and got beat in the finals of the region

I have a good friend who coaches in the 14th region and he always says that players play, coaches coach, and referees decide who wins ball games
03-06-2014, 03:56 AM
I find it ironic that we are talking about the officials Ina game that PCC is a part of. Lol

Yes due to his team missing free throws and making horrible fouls. Including one 90 feet from the basket that cost them the game. Hatcher is a great late game coach. He knows how to slow down and handle the end of a game.
