First of all, congratulations to Southern Pulaski on reaching their quest for an undefeated middle school record and also to Northern Pulaski for reaching the Elite 8. I just want to give a MAJOR shout out for the young men of Meece Middle School. They are amazing! Meece had SIX players that played in this tournament any significant minutes. They survived an overtime thriller in the second round on Saturday against a VERY determined North Laurel team who played their hearts out. Meece beat, the previously unbeaten, Christian County team in the semi finals by 23! Meece gave Southern their closest game in three years of middle school basketball by losing in the final by 1. These young men proved last year was no fluke when they were runner up as well. What a great accomplishment for such a small school. Southern may have been number one on the scoreboard but, Meece was number one in our hearts.
