This is bad and he should be gone for the season but I am not big on the criminal charge thing as I am old school. Back before the vagination of society in the last fifteen years, when it is over its over. What happened on the court didn't carry over to the courtroom.

I'm a Cordia fan and a perry central fan and a 14th region fan...And a big fan of johnson....just saying.

This started as soon as chapman entered the game. Go back and watch as johnson is running down the court and he gets a little past half court when chapman stops and shoulder blocks johnson. No call by the refs. Then he done it again a few possessions later. Another no call by this officiating crew.
And johnson caught the ball on the wing and just brought his arms up with the ball. That's not illegal especially if you don't make contact. And another thing is they called two technical fouls on Perry's bench and none on cordials bench. Perry had two players leave the bench and the video shows at least 5 cordia players leave their bench and then after they had come on the court one of the assistant coaches who was also on the court pushed them back. That should have been 6 technical fouls by the way the refs called and Rhodes should have been ejected because he is suppose to control the bench. And the refs never kicked chapman out of the game which is illegal. He did leave the gym but he came right back.
And someone said that because Perry's team left the bench they should have had to forfeit the game but nobody says anything about cordia leaving the bench first.

If it was in reponse to the supposed elbow by Johnson the punch would have been immediately after the contact. While violence should never be tolerated in any form, neither should comments that provoke it, especially if it was racial. Both should have to sit out a few games.

It looks likes Chapman took two steps back as Johnson walked past him, matching Johnson's steps and then clocked him. He knew he was going to punch him right after the ref blew the whistle.

I just hate that everything has to be about racism. I dont care if the kid was black or white or whatever there is no place for this in sports. Anytime someone says something negative about Cordia they are called racist. Cordia folks think they are the only school in history to have black athletes and everyone hates them for it. Being from Knott I hope they are at full strength in the post season so we can beat u again and you can cry some more.

I highly doubt Johnson said something racial, he and Damen Tobler have become best friends. They're like each other's shadows. The tape was reviewed by the head official. He said that Johnson's move is legal and no contact was made, he was clearing space. He also said on one play Johnson came down with a rebound and hit Chapman, that was said to be a part of basketball.

I've watched the video several times and it is IMPOSSIBLE to judge whether or not he even said anything.

I swear, I enjoy watching cordia play and I am glad they have a great team but I be damned if I want them hitting my boy. he didn't deserve to be hit. Cordia will lose several as well if their video is reviewed. I was sitting directly behind their bench and at least 5/6 made it to the floor w/ Rhodes holding them back.

To all the ppl on here saying PCC, KCC and HHS should be punished to are nuts!! All their kids have went through the process and been cleared to play or sit and thats what each of those teams have done. They all 3 have done exactly what the league has told them to do because they play for the Ky High School Athletic Association. This league has rules and if you don't play by them then you will be punished.

I don't like it anymore than anyone else but when adults and administrators allow things like this to happen then its usually the kids that lose. It's your coaches and administrators that you should blame not the KHSAA. You play w/ fire and your gonna get burned. It's life get over it.

Just watching the fools act more foolish on this site. Always proud when the teams I am for do good. I am even proud of a group of homegrown boys that probably have zero shot of winning the region but still compete every night. I am proud of a school that has produced a volleyball team that has one eight out of the last nine fourteen region titles with homegrown talent. I am proud that we have the defending 14th region girls soccer, girls basketball, and baseball teams all with homegrown players. I am even proud of the football, boys basketball, and boys soccer teams although they are the only sports programs that have not won a regional title in the nine year history of the school. Or I could be like another school in our district who is proud of their team that is made up of 100% transfers. That is proud of their coach who may have brought in these players by any means necessary. Is proud of the fact that if they lose a game, their excuse is that its a vast conspiracy by the officiating. That is proud to use the race card as an excuse at every turn when every team they accuse of doing so has starters and other players that are African American. That is proud of negative behavior on the floor by some of their players.

So three things are definitely true:

I AM PROUD NOT TO BE A FAN OF CORDIA

WIN OR LOSE, I AM PROUD TO BE A LETCHER CENTRAL FAN

JMO, as a KCC grad, I LOVED when the LCC-KCC games were the biggest games on our schedule. A great rivalry that has taken a back seat. Miss it.

On the video on you tube you or anybody else can't tell if johnson said anything. How can you even say that. You just assume he said something because chapman sucker punched him. I seen another video from a little bit different view and I didn't see johnson say anything but I did see chapman say he would kill johnson

I'm going to preface this by saying I have no dog in this fight and am just a casual observer of these two programs. But if I am a Cordia administrator, the KHSAA wouldn't have to tell me what to do for the kid's punishment, he wouldn't step foot on a basketball floor the rest of the year whether the coach or whoever else liked it or not. A player who does that at my school, on my watch, would be done for the year.

Also, what did the coaches do during/after the incident? Did they exchange any words? I know it's been mentioned that Rhodes restrained players from running on the floor and Hoskins took his boys to the locker room but was there anything else going on there?

This video is the only thing I have seen regarding this game. I don't know or care what (if anything) Johnson said, and I don't care if both or either player is black, white or pink and purple polka dots. The kid who threw the punch should be suspended for the rest of the year. It was calculated, malicious and cowardly. It was also directed straight at the head. This kind of ridiculous and dangerous crap should NOT be tolerated.
