Granny Bear Wrote:And the reason they're not good enough, is beause all the recruits come piling in and no one recruits a bad player, right???? So high school basketball is becoming the game of the recruiters....who can recruit the best player from wherever.
It will get to the point, if not already, where NO ONE on the bench is really from the area that they represent.
And all the while thumbing their noses at the Paper tiger...KHSAA.
I think this is sickening.
First this is not the issue. Secondly they are not good enough because the love of the game Has to equate to work and training. Look at the girls team. You may find 2 players who could make the team. There is no receiving. My suggestion is to prove gym. And expect the same schedule.

Its time for the schools principal to step in and say this kid is done for the year. There is no place for this crap in high school sports. If Chapman's punch lands just right he could have really injured Johnson. I dont care how apologetic he was afterward you can watch the film and see it looked like him and his teammate whispered something before Perry inbounded the ball. If Im Johnson's family I would be pressing charges. If this would have happened on the streets of Hazard then Chapman would have been arrested for assault.

Basically,, it's a witch hunt against him. Crying to the public it seems to me. Why post it on public media for Julian Tackett and tell him to look at it? Seems it should be done without involving the public. Just my .02...

He's a drama queen

I also agree the coach should not be posting things on a social media. Instead, it should be handled with direct contact between RR and Mr. Tackett. Why isn't the superintendent, or what ever Ms. Whitaker is called, be intervening and trying to get control of this situation before there are worse ramifications to Cordia occur? Someone needs to be in control of this mess and I haven't seen anyone step up to the plate yet!

What does the NBA have to do with this? I guess you are being sarcastic, huh?
02-23-2014, 11:55 AM
His facebook page has video of the elbow Johnson swung on the play before the punch. This view is from the other side of the court and it looks like his elbow doesnt even touch Chapman. Johnson's elbow comes up under Chapman's arm pit and then swings freely across his head. The elbow never made contact with Chapman's face.

Imagine how Cordia would of been if Malik Hines was playing.
They would be scary.

Malik is a hell of an athlete I wish him the best.
If he would have just waited a little longer.. He'd be on the court.

If I recall in a preseason scrimmage the hall kid from knott got into one of the worst fights many people have ever seen on a ball court. Half the team had to drag him down the breeze way and it was not just one punch it was a flurry of haymakers. Chapman just gives him a little love tap that was not that bad an that was it. You didnot see on the dead ball Johnson elbow chapman in the ribs the play where he swings the elbow was not what set it off. But I guess when a good ol boy gets in a free for all it is just in spirited competition. But when a black boy gets into a fight he is a thug. The kid was wrong in what he did but come on man I have seen much worse than this in the breathitt co wolf co game and amazingly no one talks about it.

Going with the race card,, seriously? smh............... Just stop posting now..

Yeah us Knott folks we all hate blacks so bad that we have one starting on our team and have them on the football and baseball team. Yeah I guess your right he should have just beat the hell out of Johnson because Johnson is white and he is black and Perry hates blacks as well.

Would love to know if there had been exchange of words also between Johnson and Chapman during the game. While Chapman should not have punched him, Johnson is not the saint some have made him out to be. He made a very disrespectful comment to one of our players after a recent game.
02-23-2014, 07:46 PM
I heard chapman himself say he had called him the N word several times. Still should not have hit him but I could read his lips and you could plainly see it. I also heard that on the game film it was very noticeable but I have not seen it.

Really, RR, you're doing what you do for east Kentucky? What have you done for east Kentucky? How about doing whatever it is your doing for east Kentucky with east Kentucky boys?

Just watching the fools act more foolish on this site. Always proud when the teams I am for do good. I am even proud of a group of homegrown boys that probably have zero shot of winning the region but still compete every night. I am proud of a school that has produced a volleyball team that has one eight out of the last nine fourteen region titles with homegrown talent. I am proud that we have the defending 14th region girls soccer, girls basketball, and baseball teams all with homegrown players. I am even proud of the football, boys basketball, and boys soccer teams although they are the only sports programs that have not won a regional title in the nine year history of the school. Or I could be like another school in our district who is proud of their team that is made up of 100% transfers. That is proud of their coach who may have brought in these players by any means necessary. Is proud of the fact that if they lose a game, their excuse is that its a vast conspiracy by the officiating. That is proud to use the race card as an excuse at every turn when every team they accuse of doing so has starters and other players that are African American. That is proud of negative behavior on the floor by some of their players.
So three things are definitely true:
I AM PROUD NOT TO BE FROM CORDIA
I AM PROUD NOT TO BE A FAN OF CORDIA
WIN OR LOSE, I AM PROUD TO BE A LETCHER CENTRAL FAN
One last thing, I am bringing back something I posted when RR first came to Cordia.
:kneel:
The chickens may be coming home to roost.

Just saw the punch Chapman threw at Johnson, all I can say that May have been the biggest chicken shit punch I have ever seen. Man up and face your man, no sucker punch allowed in the mountains. What a loser

If Johnson's elbows were a little more to the right Chapman could have been really injured.
What's the difference?
