Ive said since Stoops got to Commowealth, that he was a great recruiter and if given the time, he could turn the program around. Closing down the boarders was his first mission and he has done a great job of that. Looking foward to what the next few years turn into. Wont be playing for any BCS championships, but i do think we will be back into descent bowl games. Hard when u r playing in the SEC though. Teams beat up on eah other all season, ten bc they have lost a few games get no shot at provinc they are better than a 0-1 loss Big 12 or ACC team. Looking foward to seeig how the playoffs pan out as well.

Much to do about nothing. I wouldn't believe everything you read. I give uk a less than 10% chance with him.

Let me get this straight. Kentucky is better than a 1 lost ACC and/or Big 12 team? Just because UK plays in the SEC? Really? Mmmmm tell that to Oklahoma, Oklahoma St. Baylor, TCU. How about VA Tech Uof Miami or Florida St. I hope I read your thread wrong and If I did I apologize, but to say UK is better than those teams I mentioned just because they played in the SEC is just ridiculous.

Many years ago, the Old Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier ticked off FSU head coach Bobby Bowden and so many Florida State fans once as head coach of Florida when he said FSU stood for "Free Shoes University".

FSU just might have reopened the shoe store.Confusednicker:

Best of luck to Damien on WHATEVER decision he makes. Hope he finds a good fit for himself. UK and Stoops could definitely use him.

Absolutley NOT. In no way to I think that way. Kentucky has been a door mat over the last many many years. They couldnt compete within the bottom level of the SEC let alone any of the other big conferences. What I didnt explain well I guess and What I was refering to was the fact that imo, the top two or three sec teams in the last 10 seasons or so, have been much better than their fellow SEC team counter parts in the national championship. Which is what I was refering to. A top 3 10-2, hell in some years a 9-3 SEC are better than some of the 12-0/11-1 major conference teams that the SEC champ are playing. That's Why I am glad to see a playoff happening. . No, UK football has been a joke and a mess, but I think Stoops can change that, given enough time. Sorry that I didnt explain myself better.

^^^many times the top SEC teams are instantly out of title contention BC the top 2 or 3 picked a hell of a time to lay an egg offensively or have a defensive breakdown. But thats why they play the game. Anything can happen on any goven night. It just pains me to watch teams play lights out all year, lose 1 or 2 games, and be knocked out of a shot at a championship. It's not just SEC teams, all conferences have had their fair shair of run-ins with this issue.

Is there really any doubt that Stoops will make every legal effort to get this kid to come to UK? There isn't with me. If the kid decides to go elsewhere it will not be a result of a lack of hard work and effort by the UK recruiters.

Let's hope with hard work Stoops and company can keep him in State. I hate it when the best players leave the state. It will take several more recruiting classes like this years to make them competitive with all SEC schools. Football is a lot different than basketball. The right two or three recruits in basketball can take you right to the top. Two or Three great recruiting classes in football will make you competitive.

Well Damien is at least honestly considering UK, it's more than a 10% chance, I know that to be fact.
