Best big man in the state, best guard, best scorer? Opinions
12-21-2013, 11:32 PM
Best big man in the state is Justin Johnson. Look at his numbers and tell me diff. He isn't just getting his against cupcakes but against very good teams as well. I'm going all Mtn players in this. Justice is the best scorer and Beverly the best PG.

Not sure who is, just find it hard to believe that he is that guy.

Last I heard,, they weren't recruiting him yet. Just showing interest,, invited him to a game. Just wanting to watch him more over next year or so.

They have Shane Hall ranked ahead of Justin. Never seen him play. But if someone was to give Justin a battle,, would be Jackson Davis or Ray Spalding.

I agree Mix. Now, I believe Ray Spalding has the BEST upset in the state & I believe you will see that. He is a late bloomer and I'm sure UK will offer. Vandy, Xavier and a few have already offered and I'm hearing UNC will shortly. This kid can b a PRO! At the Highschool level I would take Johnson over any of them. He just gets it done at this level.

Upside instead of upset, lol

He had 27 pts,, 17 boards,, 6-7 blocks his last game with a few coaches in attendance.

Johnson is more of a 4 man (power forward) type player. I would not put him in the category of a true post man. If I was rating that position, Johnson would be 1 or 2 on my list for the state.
12-22-2013, 11:46 AM
I'd take Braxton and Justin over anyone.

I know ppl will call me a homer for choosing Mtn kids but I've watched all 3 of those kids against the best High school players the country and they more than hold their own. I would start my team w/ the 3 players I said and not b afraid of playing any team anywhere.

You all forgetting Quinton Snider at Ballard?
12-22-2013, 12:50 PM
Beverly as a sophmore is one of the best in the state, Johnson is close only time will tell Goodin needs to get out of Taylor County if he wants to be seen in Rupp they cant beat Etown,Bardstown or North Hardin and they dont play a great schedule...out in the state.

Quinten* Your crazy if you haven't heard of him haha. Averages 30 pts per game. 4 boards a game. Not sure on the asst.

Guards- Quentin Snider, Braxton Beverly, and James Bolden, all have great handles and can get to the rim
Scorers- Cameron Justice and Trenton Gilbert, can change a game with just a few shots
Big Men- Justin Johnson, his stats are ridiculous this year including games against the number 1 teams out of LA and OH.

Camron Justice and Quinten Snider are the two best players in the state.
Scorer: Justice and Gilbert
Guard: Snider
Big Man: Spalding or Davis or Johnson. (Hall would be if he wanted to, but he just acts like he don't love basketball or playing hard all the time)

Johnson is the best big man, on both sides of the ball.
For being just a Sophomore Beverly is a special talent, he is also ranked one of the best PG's in the country for that class if I'm not mistaken.
Justice is the best all around scorer in the state and arguably one of the better if not best.
