Knott Central 51 Hazard 48
#1
Final from Hazard.
#2
Nothing like the 14th!!!!!! Playing out to be another exciting year in the region.
#3
:argue:Knott didnt play great tonight but pulled off the win. Refs are really struggling trying to enforce the hand check rule. You cant hand check but under the goal you can still murder someone and no call.
#4
After seeing Knott tonight, as bad as I hate to say it, Perry is much better than them !!!
#5
^ you can't judge Perry and Knott by their Hazard games... I don't care what anyone thinks Hudson is a BIG difference.

I agree! This region is still wide open. I know KCC is the favorite but so was PCC the last 2 years. Whoever is playing well in Feb and early March goes! It is what it is.

I was at the game at the one thing that stood out to me was Knott County's depth, or the lack thereof. They played strong in both the first and third quarters, but at times you could see the lack of depth wearing on them. The five starters are all good players, but all the bench players are not even close to varsity level players yet.
#8
I knew this one was going to be a barn burner!

Hazard had the ball in hand with 12 seconds to go down 1. Knott blocked the shot and that was your ballgame.

Knott did a great job on defense with their zone. Hollan and Hudson left in the third with four fouls and they had to play without their best two players for 6 or 7 minutes.

Great game to beat.

Here's the big play from the end.

Dang I was pulling for hazard I listen to this game on 97.9 here in London, what a game on radio 64SUR :Cheerlead
#10
Does anyone else think Knott is a little overrated at this point in the season?
#11
^ they beat all their opponents (lex cath, cordia) by double digits minus hazard who they beat on the road? Sounds overrated.
#12
I think they are best team in the 14th region but I don't think they are #2 in the state and PCC ain't #4 in the state. I think both ate a little overrated. They are both prob top 10 though.
#13
I was wondering what happened to hall at the end that put him on the floor. Was a nice cheap shot to the back of the head lol... Was a rough game tonight Knott did not handle it well. Congrats Kcc!
#14
Great win Knott way to pull the win out.
#15
I think Knott and Perry are deserving of top 15 rankings, just not #2 and #4 in the state. Neither team has depth and it has shown with Knott struggling with Hazard and Perry struggling with North Laurel.
#16
February 7th will be a dandy when Perry goes to Hazard & Hudson and Johnson square off.
#17
If Evan hall plays like he did tonight against perry central, johnson will get 40. And it's the same this year as it was last year, justice gets every call and they never call a foul on him.
#18
At the end of the first half I think it was justice drove the lane and lost the ball or some hazard player stripped it and his momentum carried him and he completely ran over a hazard player and extended both arms and pushed him down and there was no call. And every time he breaks for the ball he grabs the person who is guarding him by the arm or arms and pulls the opposing player one way and he breaks the other
#19
Better game than I expected I will eat my crow
Hazard should of won big al must been getting hungry and wanting to get out of there with that last play call. Run the clock down to 12 secs and go 1 on 3. Shoulda got into Hudson he'd dominated the game in the paint
#20
lol @ hitter blaming the refs

As long as Knott's bald headed favorite is calling, Justice will never be in foul trouble and Knott will not lose in the 14th. That is just how it is and has been for the last 2 years, why would this year be any different. This game was horribly called and I am not for either team. Have never even seen the other pudgy guy ref that was helping the 2 bald ones, he couldn't even get up and down the floor. Hazard out played Knott, just didn't get the W for it.

He shot 6 free throws tonight and had 4 fouls
#23
Wow. Couldn't believe it. Figured hazard would lose by 10 or more. Can't count them out just yet.

I thought it was the obvious play call.

Iso Hollan at the top and let him go to work. Knott was doing a good job at denying Hudson the ball for the most part. If you iso Hollan you still have the option of dumping it to Hudson when the double (or triple) comes.

I think Al would do the same thing again if it happens next time.
#25
Didn't get to watch this one but if I needed 2 points at the end of regulation I would definitely put the ball in the hands of Josh Holland. IMO he is the best in the region at getting to the basket.
#26
Someone said 25 was the one fouled but justice shot the free throws?
Is this true? If so a very bad no call by the refs.
#27
Evan Hall looks to have bulked up during the off-season but it did not show against Hudson. He was manhandled all night, and did not look to be as good as he was last year. Johnson from Pcc will have a field day against him if he doesn't make some abrupt changes.

Also, Tyler Fugate from pcc will be cleared to play on Jan. 1st. and John Toomer should be able to play soon thereafter. This will give pcc depth and experience as both of these players are upperclassmen.

Love the play call. Ride the horse that got you there! I just thought Hollan shoulda took the pull up jumper. Cornett gave him a lot of space and I thought he was gonna shot.
#29
IMO if they call the same touch fouls against Johnson as they did Evan hall last night you won't have to worry about him getting 40 because he will foul out way before then.
#30
if you are going to use that play why call the time out then. just let him go at the goal while you got them on their heels. big al was just wanting to get to ponderosa before the buffet closed.

justice was the one fouled. was fouled dribbling towards the other end trying to run out clock
