North Laurel 2014
#1
How will the Jaguars bounce back after loosing several starters?
#2
Nelson and Blair will be very hard to replace.
#3
Its going to be hard for North to make the playoffs next year.
PC and MS are sure losses, and North will need to beat SW, who might be better with a new coach, SL who should be on the same level as North next year, and Lincoln, who I would think would be considered a favorite over North.

Tough year coming ahead.

NL had a stout 8th grade team this year. Do you all see any of those guys contributing at the varsity level for the Jags next year?

North had to play without Nelson half the year unfortunately, however, it did allow for another QB to get a lot of experience that will return next season for his senior year.
Both, was hard to replace this season when they were out of the games, yes. The younger kids filled in good this year for them when they went out due to injuries, but yes North Laurel will miss them.

Tough year coming ahead.

North and Lincoln County split both JV games this season and North beat Lincoln freshmen. North Laurel has had over 500 yards rushing each game the past two years against Lincoln County.
North has beaten SWP twice in two years and have only lost to South once in 5 years, on a late TD.

North returns 8 starters on defense and 6 starters on offense, plus one of the best kickers in the state.

North Laurel will be fine and loaded with junior, sophomore talent on the field mixed in with a few seniors on the roster that will return to start. Most of the juniors started last year as sophomores, so that game experience will be key this season.

They have also finished runner up to Harlan County the past two seasons in the area weight meet.

North Laurel is still incorporating a winning atmosphere, the seniors this season have a real good chance to leave as the winningest group of players in North Laurel history in their 4 year career.

Should be a good district race again this season.

Look I am a North fan also, and the cupboard isn't bare, that has been another positive of the Larkey years we seem to be developing and keeping better players in better numbers. We shouldn't drop completely off the map...but the district schedule may get us. We get PC and Madison Southern at home. We aren't winning those games if they are healthy. We have to go to South, SW and Lincoln, and would probably have to win two of those just to make the playoffs. I think in two years we could have a legit shot at the two seed behind PC, because we do have a really nice core of players that were 8th,9th or 10th graders this season, but next year is gonna be a real test.

Larkey has done a good job developing North. There will be years where they are not quite as good but they will compete year in and year out.

this year was as good as it gets for North Laurel

Never count the Jags out as long as Larkey is there. He will rebuild and does a great job keeping the kids out and believing they can win.

How come schools like North and South that have a ton of kids not be more successful at football?? I'm not blaming coaches but what's the problem?

Good point. I'd like to see them pick their football up. Maybe even take in the Bobcats

Schedule was already full. Boyle co. Seemed to be a little better game for Bell in the upcoming cycle. Did NL fill all it's dates?
#23
I'm impressed that north even called looking, good to hear that north is calling these teams and may be a sign that their program is getting better. I'm sure lots of teams won't even pick up the phone to call the bobcats.
