Will Highlands and Collins rematch in 2014?
#1
I sure hope so, that is, if Collins even makes it to the state title game. Highlands won't overlook them next year. I hope Highlands hangs 60+ on them. I say Highlands 56-14, running clock.
#2
I think Highlands will continue to fall.
I dont see a state title game in the future for Highlands as long as Mueller is there.

He may be the biggest choke artist of all time.

Add all of those with the fact that Highlands isnt traditionally a good school, and its a disaster.
#3
I cant see Highlands doing anything more than they have done the last few years. They only won 6 state championships out of 7 attempts...but what have u done for me lately?

In all seriousness, even if they arent there next year, to win a State Championship in your 4th year of school exhistance is remarkable. There are teams that have played for 70-80 years and het to do that. Ie Raceland/Williamsburg. I believe in 2-5 years, Collins will. E the new power.
#4
The main question. Who will be back for Collins next year? Higlands has over 30 Sr All of the Oline with only one Jr seeing a lot of playing time. QB, both main running backs. and Half of the WRs. I see a few on DL coming over to the oline next year.

They will still have two really good QB to pick from. The other half of the WRs are really good. And two Jr's and two So runnber backs who will battle it out.

HHS does not overlook teams ...they are too good for that...Collins deservedly won the game and was the better team.
HHS will probably be there again next year but Collins is the Champion of 2013.

Collins vs Highlands every year would only help to make both teams better and more competitive game year in and year out...good programs get better playing other good programs
#7
Here comes the excuses... Won't overlook, hang 60 pts, running clock, too cold, not enough hot chocolate on the side lines. What else is there to complain about? You played it on the field and the better team won on the field. BOTTOM LINE!
#8
Highlands would love this. So would Collins. Collins is a new powerhouse. Can they continue to win like they have the last 4 years?

Hey CornHusker, I thought you were a cheerleader and a member of the HHS fan club.

It will be interesting to see how well Collins does next season. They lose a very talented class of 16 seniors, but there is still talent left in the program. Right now I'm not really sure what to expect from them for next season, but I have faith that Coach Lucas will have his players ready to go once the season comes around. Winning a state championship is a big motivator to work harder to get back there.

Personally , I think you got what you deserved.......It's FTH fans like you that disgust us all.....TongueirateSho

Look for Highlands to fall on some hard times. I'm not predicting the end of the world, but I don't think they're returners are as talented as this years departing seniors. This was suppose to be one of the most "overall" talented groups to play at Highlands, and they didn't get it done, while the last 2 freshman classes haven't been stellar. I think CovCath makes a run next year and knocks them off.

Highlands loses to much to make it again plus they get a group of Sophomores that got shut out by SK! Big Grin

...yet SK doesn't play the varsity. Weak.

Why play the second best team in 4A when you can play the best?

Highlands won't even get to state championship next year and it might be a few years before they do. I know what they got coming back and what their under classmen bring. They are going to be hurting. That's my opinion.

Don't count out Boyle County. The team had alot of Sophomores and Juniors playing this year. Next year will be interesting to say the least.

Hey William, no Im not. I cheer on Lexington Catholic. Walking distance to my home and I attend Mary Queen which is across from the school. What made you think Im a fan of FTH? Cause I picked to them to win? I also pick others ie. Boyle Co, Trinity, Saint X, Lexington Lafayette and of course Cincy Moeller.

It's either highland or cov cath vs collins. Just to good in the north!

Agree with FT Highlands and Cov Cath.... but you better add Lexington Catholic and Boyle County in the mix. Those programs have tons of impact returners. If you need an example. Lex Cath returns their QB, WR Letton and all but one O/L. On defense, they only loose 3 of 11 starters. Boyle County had tons of sophomores and juniors returning starters.

I am not so sure about Highlands. The Tilghman, John Hardin, Warren Central, and LexCath games lend itself that Highlands' depth certainly isn't what I usually is. In all those games once Highlands began to sub anything beyond their 1's they were getting absolutely exposed and in rapid fashion. In year's past Highlands was seemingly able to push leads even with their 2's in.. and at the very least play neutral. This year though it is blatantly obvious the cupboard had nothing more than Ramen Noodles and Beefaroni as teams were scoring on Highlands at a break neck pace.

Could the talent pool in Bluebird Land be trending downward?

Highlands will always be Highlands you guy think one bad game and the sky is falling do you really think that I think you know better. He'll to me Ky football was a joke this year you take are best teams over the ohio river and they get smashed ! Congrats to Collins you won time to move on as for SK now that's a joke win you win something let me know uk1fan I'll give you this you follow a losing team every year but still come back:hilarious:

The last two frosh classes have not been stellar? Wasn't this year the first time that CCH frosh have defeated HHS in like 10 years and that was by one point wasn't it?

And what is it that they bring that they will not be successful? You claimed you were on the sideline last year, so is it the fact you are no longer around that they are going to struggle? Interested to hear your insights oh wise one.

That is true. 4A should be a lot of fun next year. There aren't really any teams that will be clear cut favorites.
#28
Don't know. Highlands has to get a coach!!:hilarious:
#29
I think everyone should pass Highlands off as a dinosaur program that is all washed up. Focus on other games on your schedule, Highlands wont bring anything next year its all over. You should really get into a mindset that Highlands isn't any good and will roll over.
6 titles in a row is old news. Collins is the new power of Ky. Keep thinking like that. The boys in blue aren't in the weight room pissed as I type... I promise.

I remember hearn that talk after we lost in the mud bowl as a junior to cov cath in 97.... just lorenzen and smith returning as starters everyone was talking cov cath.....we broke most the state records in 98 with 98% first year starters look it up. Pissed off revenge crazed bluebirds are not to be taken lightly.

Brian Weinrich the guy stepping in as HC could be one of best coaches in the state.... he put a pounding on Collins about a year ago (Mueller had to go to a funeral) but that was back when state championships weren't a big deal.

:1: :notworthy Think he's a little salty, his team takes a couple L's a year from the Birds. Congrats Collins on showing the way.
