Could this be the year.Them boys in red are on a mission and taking no prisoners...Go Belfry!!!

Great game plan by the Pirates. Typical Belfry football.....pound the ball between the tackles...damage you with counters....and pressure the corners.

I said in an earlier thread that BC would have to make plays between the tackles.....and they simply couldn't do it.

Once again Belfry makes a good back look less than average...Holman=Hopkins. No running game.

Bourbon county said they "wanted" Belfry...and I said be careful what you wish for.....and the best team won...hands down.

Again, the weak schedule came back to haunt BC.....once they fell behind...it was apparent they began to press....

So it's a sweet drive back down the ole' Mountain Parkway......Our Ship fully intact....we didn't even have to pull a "pin on any fire extinguisher".

Congrats Belfry! Win it all!

A Bourbon fan's perspective....

From the beginning it was evident that Bourbon Co. would have to win through the air and outside as the meat of the LOS was too much again (though not as bad as last year) for Bourbon to handle.

Play of the game was the screen pass to Holman for the 80 yd td being called back, would have made it at that time 12-0 BC.

Early on Haywood decided to take much of the read away from Warren, which I believe won Belfry the ball game as he seemed to be struggling early.

Bourbon played great on D, and definitely put the Offense in a position to win.

Pope missed two touchdowns deep to Johnson, and Johnson dropped a third, if a couple of those plays are executed this would have been a completely different ball game.

But IF my aunt had nuts she'd be my Uncle, and life goes on.

Great game by both teams and Congrats and good luck to the Pirates, against what is looking to be a very legit Wayne Co. team. Bring the bacon back to the East!

This is not true. Holman had a very nice game, up until the point he dislocated his ankle, or knee. Had an 80 yd screen pass called back, he only had maybe 8-10 carries all game for what Im going to assume was decent yardage probably 5-6 yards per carry. IF you weren't impressed with Holman may God bless you with football knowledge.

If belfry didn't fumble 3 times an hhad numerous penalties it wold ave a blow out. If an nuts.
#13
The weak schedule didn't mean shit dumbass. Both teams played well and had a lot of penalties. All the penalties were legit from where I was standing. Bourbons came at poor times and hurt a lot worse than the belfry penalties. Bourbon just made too many mistakes but I guess according to a dumbass it was the weak schedule. Belfry came out in the second half and played good football and bourbon didn't. Congrats belfry. Good luck next week!!!

No doubt BC missed on a couple of deep balls. However...I'm sure Haywood would like to take a mulligan and have a redo on the first quarter as well. I just thought Belfry was much too physical....and the drive before halftime and the initial drive in the 3rd...were monster statements.

Didn't say anything about being unimpressed. I said Belfry made a good back less than average...no running game. And Holman didn't hurt Belfry at all from the running game perspective. Why do you think BC's passing attack was below par? Because Belfry neutralized the running attack. Never said he wasn't a good back.

Your inability to communicate without using vulgarity speaks volumes.

Calm down buddy its over, fumbles are part of your offensive scheme, I would be anxious to know when the last time Belfry played a game without fumbling, not turning it over, just fumbling, its part of the Belly read.... and it wouldn't have been a blowout either way.

I was just noting that Johnson burned Warren 3 times for what is usually 3 touchdowns, and tonight it wasn't. I am by no means making excuses, I thought Belfry (outside of the first quarter) executed to near perfection, and Bourbon didn't.

I gave Belfry and Haywood their props, you should learn to take a compliment

Classy!!! Boy it must sting to have your best team ever and STILL be sitting home on championship weekend.

You are right..unfortunately fumbles are part of Belfry's offense. Fumbles, poor tackling and penalties have been their bug-a-boo all season. Johnson does have great speed. it appeared Pope threw a lot of balls of his back foot tonight. have to wonder if that was do to his injury?

Well if average is good, what is less than average? I think 8-10 carries at 5-6 yds per carry is doing some decent damage so while I respect your opinion, I will have to disagree.

That's even classier, and for what its worth this wasn't the best Bourbon team ever.

I think it is still a little tender, but he was the best option.

Sure could have fooled me. All I heard all week was Belfry won't be able to handle the speed that 7-8 Bourbon players have, how the defense is much improved from last year, how they demolished all their opponents. I guess Alabama was just too much for you guys. Roll Tide!!! Lol.
#25
Bourbon radio guys had Hillman at 49 yards on 11 carries.

Kid is very talented.
#26
Yardage was

Belfry ~ 390
Bourbon ~ 170

According to Paris station.

Not mad at all. I'm just tired of hearing about the weak schedule that everyone in the entire country knows about by now and that did not affect this game one bit!!! Good luck next week!!!

I guess we can disagree:biggrin: I do think that if you were to ask tell Haywood that Holman would have less than 60 yrds on the ground..he would have gladly taken it. IMO, Holman needed to have a game in the neighborhood of 150+ in rushing yards to really set BC's passing game up.

Holman--11 carries--49 yards.

As noted, I don't think Belfry handled Bourbon's speed as well as they did last year. If you were at the game, then you saw the misses and the long touchdown called back. And those statements you made are true statements, Bourbon was much better than last year, and they had demolished all of their competition.

I have wished your team good luck, show some class and move on to your Wayne County thread.

On a different note, Prayers for Brent Holman as he did in fact break his leg in the fourth quarter tonight.
