Fight between Knott Central/East Jess Saturday?
#1
Just wondering how many were involved in the fight Saturday. Since this was a scrimmage, it still counts as ejections for either of the teams and their players will have to sit their 2 game suspension. Hate to see teams doing this so early in the season. Isn't the rule, the next ejection is for the rest of the year? Just wondering.

Heard it was Evan Hall from Knott County, so he should be out the first 2 games of the season if the ejection was turned in by the officials!
#3
I heard their wasn't even a T called on the play. Their were punches thrown and landed from what I hear but no T. I know it sounds kinda weird to me but that's just what I was told. Hard to believe that!

Wow, but for some reason that doesn't surprise me with it being played at Knott. :biglmao:

I think three ejections in ANY sport gets you suspended for the year from all sports.

This was a scrimmage and not a sanctioned game so why would this count. Scrimmages are not regulated by KHSAA.

Everyone that was ejected will have to sit out 2 games in the regular season according to the KHSAA Bylaws.

Below is two of the rules/bylaws (BL 15-7) If a player (participant) is ejected from a
scrimmage or contest, how long is the suspension?

Quote:(4) Following review, the Commission may extend the suspension

Quote:(8) Following the day of ejection, there shall be a minimum
two additional games/ meets/contests suspension for any
participant ejected from a contest.

The only problem with this is, even when all the punches were over and done, neither of the 3 refs ejected anyone. So I guess in the 14th this year, for fighting you just get to go and take a time out on the bench and everything will be okay! :moon: Hope these guys don't call the Knott/Cordia game.:redboxer:

Then I don't know how they will handle it. I still think the ones who threw punches will have to sit the two games, maybe more.

Hall was ejected and so was the kid from East.

I just wasnt sure if they would have to sit games because it was an exh game. I know what the bylaws say but with exh you throw most of those rules out the door. Teams are allowed to play prep schools, fouls are not counted, etc. With that said Hall was crazy for what he done. He wasnt even involved in the play and he came in and just started throwing hay makers. Hall was dominating the game when this happens. He was going up in traffic and slamming and really making a statement. Hall is much improved but he has to be smarter.

Ejection rules in scrimmages are the same for regular season games in all sports and contests.

If Hall and the kid from East Jess were ejected then they will have to sit out at least 2 games.

Im pretty sure they were ejected. Both left the gym did not return. There could have easily been 5 or 6 more ejected.

:foreveralone: No Worries......... Knott's deep bench will fill Hall's shoes while he is serving his time.

Cracks me up that a Breathitt football fan makes a statement like this. You guys have recruited fball players for years. After past couple years maybe you guys need a new recruiting coordinator.

When has the 14th region and most of these posters really cared about any stinkin KHSAA bylaws.

First of all, I said this in good fun, so don't take everything so personal. Secondly, Breathitt has recruited kids in the past to play football. Recruiting occurs everywhere, with every major high school sport. I just felt I had to take a jab at this situation, due to the influx of transfers at Knott, Cordia, and Perry Central over the past couple of years.
