Hate to admit it, but when Carolina gets back Hairston and McDonald they will be very dangerous.

All over twitter, Louisville fans are using the excuse that UNC is underrated and is a title contender. I guess Belmont is a title contender too then.

I don't see PJ getting eligible. I've seen stranger things but he'll not play in college any this season. He screwed up big time by not going pro last year.

Watched this game, and it was even anywhere near as close as the score shows. UNC out played the "Mighty" Cards from the start.
11-25-2013, 08:49 AM
What game did you watch? It was very close in the first half. Tied at halftime. Montrez and Van Trease both were in foul trouble in the second half. And U of L's inside game is suspect on defense when those two are out. But really, who cares...it's a game in November. Hell, the Cards lost to Duke last year. They lost six games on the year. Siva and Dieng will be hard to replace. People read to much into it. North Carolina will be tough if they get their other two back.

Big win for UNC!!! Belmont could be a rough game for UK!!!
11-25-2013, 03:56 PM
Well Im not going to make excuses for the loss. I dont think this loss is really bad. Its early still. I think that this game showed just how special Gorgui Dieng was for the program. The defense just isnt clicking yet but I have full confidence it will in the coming weeks. Russ Smith is easily top 5 player in the country. Chris Jones has more than replaced Siva talent wise and is only going to get better. However, the leadership of Siva and the heart just isn't there. Hats off to UNC, they played a terrific game! Paige is the real deal. It hurts to say this and you wont see me say it often but UL got out hustled tonight. Not often A Pitino coached team gets out hustled, they may not win every game, but they never get out hustled. Tonight was one of those rare times. I have full confidence UL will bounce back though. Its still to early for any team to be clicking on all cylinders

A Pitino team in November looks nothing like a Pitino team in March. I saw too much with what he did with UK to know that the Cards are not fretting over this game at all. Had this been UK that lost this game, the State would be in a state of mourning......

They are young. Last year they were playing high school basketball. It's November. Good gosh...all the ranked teams have targets on their backs.

No shit Sherlock....every player you mentioned are one and dones, Smart could have gone. You take a kid that was unknown, three star ranked, a steal for Pitino...and watch Pitino develop this kid into a complete player and give him a chance to play in the NBA? Not to mention..he is a college player...student/athlete. Something those guys and Cal know nothing about..the kid has done really well. I would put his defense up against anybody in college basketball. That's how it's done in the college game. He is a warrior. Russ will go down as one of the all time greats at U of L. Two final fours...a NC in his career. None vacated. Not bad. Behanon could take a page out of his book. There is one kid who I don't think is going to make it at all.

That was the statement that was made was that he was easily top five. And that simply is not true. It doesn't matter if those kids are freshmen sophomores or Juniors they are better players. Not a knock on Russ smith at all so chill out and take a Valium.

You think Cal developed those players? LOL....that's hilarious. And neither one is seeing the floor much. Those guys were going to get a chance. Harrelson especially. Cal doesn't get anyone to the NBA....because they would be there anyway if they could. Declaring a group of top five players is so subjective. Smith doesn't need a UK fan's justification to be a top five player. Where he started and where he is now is what college basketball is all about. He is going to get his shot and a DEGREE. He is going to be ok either way. He is one of the best players in college basketball period. And he is a student/athlete. Not a one and done. Pretty good coaching...and if you look at Pitino's tenure at UK...he developed some good players there. He didn't haul a class of one and dones in and feed the "instant gratification" of needy UK fans. He rebuilt the program the right way....and I enjoyed watching them play.

He still recruited marquis Teague a one and done player at UK and has recruited many of the same players as cal has at UK. They just aren't picking louisville. Credit to pitino for winning and being competitive with less talent. Idk why you chose to jump all over me cause I don't believe Russ smith is a top 5 player. It's my opinion and I'm most certainly entitled to it. Also do u follow any UK basketball. Harrelson was a bench player until his senior year then with cals coaching became a solid player. Also cal puts superstar players into the NBA the best pitino has put in the NBA is Jamaal Mashburn or Antoine walker and the best he has put in at Louisville was the Garcia Kid. That's a far cry from Derek Rose, john wall,Demarcus cousins,Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight.

Cal doesn't put one and dones in the NBA. They would be in the NBA anyway if the NBA would let them. They bide their time until they are old enough to enter the draft. Furthermore...Cal's recruiting success is benefited greatly by agent/shoe dealer and scumbag Uncle World Wide Wes. Anytime a player decommits and comes to Cal....the pot has been sweetened. Ask Nazi and Scott Padgett about Pitino's development of them and their NBA careers. And Garcia, Clark, Siva for example. You drink too much of Cal's Kool-Aid. It took him twenty years to win a national championship that has stuck. He has six straight number one classes and has that to show for it. Give Mike, Tom, Bill those kinds of classes....hard telling how many NC's those guys would have. And why a one and done wouldn't swamp to a coach who has multiple NC's and can flat out coach....and come to Cal...with two vacated seasons and final fours...kind of raises some eyebrows. Pitino...his record speaks for itself. He coaches college players and coaches them up. And he did bring UK's cheating asses from rock bottom to NC's again. Without one and doners. Cal has earned his reputation starting with UMass. And UK fans didn't like him either until your chicken shit athletic director needed the quickest fix he could fine to bail him out. If Cal hadn't had his number one class come with him from Memphis (another school with a history of cheating) UK wouldn't have touched him with a ten foot pole. But hey...win, just win..we don't care how you do it.

But hey...win, just win..we don't care how you do it.Please explain to me how cal is responsible for Marcus camby taking money from an agent or Derek rose cheating on his SAT. The NCAA couldn't offer any proof and I bet you can't either. Those Schools wins were vacated and as a byproduct so were cals. I wonder why everyone blast Cal for the camby situation but everyone says what happened to Jim tressel or joe paterno is considered an outrage. Also why is there no outrage over the DJ fluker situation at Alabama no one is blasting saban for the exact thing that happened to cal an agent gave a kid money. The same things could easily happen to any coach in the country. You say I'm drinking cals Kool-aid but I see how he is honest with his players and active with the community. I believe you are drinking straight from the ACC/Big East kool-aid fountain that is espn that leads everyone to believe that the only great coaches are Boeheim,Williams,Coach K,and rick pitino. Just to show a perfect example how cal helps develop really talented kids. look at Anthony Bennett and Greg Oden both great in HS and in College. Both #1 overall picks. Now compare there careers to Say Demarcus Cousins and Derek Rose or Even Davis and MKG and you can clearly see how cal prepares players for the nba. Oden and Bennett were elite players but didn't have a coach who had them work on the flaws in there game to be able to make it in the NBA.

I had a typo in my previous post. I meant Russ Smith is a top 5 "Scorer". I honestly believe Russ is just that. He is a little selfish which knocks him out of my Top 5 "Player" category. However, he isnt just an offense minded player. he is a heck of a defender too! Wiggins has yet to prove to me that he can score at will. Not because he is a cardinal or anything but I just like the Kid and his story too. Just a 2 or 3 star recruit and now look at him. He is fearless too. To me Marcus Smart and Jabari Parker are the best players right now. By best player Im not trying to knock any player or say that they wont have a better career than Russ. Like Ive stated before. There is a big difference in College Basketball and the NBA. Size tends to hurt some of the best guards in the country from going on to the NBA. For instance Devan Downey, They kid could flat out play the game and never got the chance. There is several smaller guards like him that just never got the chance.

I guess Josh Harrellson had zero help from Cal getting drafted,, lol. Sorry,, he'd never gotten drafted at many other places. Don't sit there and tell me Cal can't develop players. Jorts went from a serviceable bench player in college to a good bench NBA player. Cal prepares his players as good as anyone for the league. Jealousy of Cal is sometimes unbearable. I hate loserville as much as the next UK fan, but Smith is a great guard. Also,, is funny old Roy can get a 1AD and hurt their careers,, PJ to name one. Coach K tries it at times also.

You have got to be kidding me!
That was my point!
Everyone is badly overrated this year. North Carolina and Lville do SUCK.
It just so happens that almost everyone else does to.
The great thing about UK is there plenty of room to get better unlike other teams.
And what do you mean "us"? Baylor boy.
Lets see what happens Friday.

Not sure how you can say any team sucks this early in the season. Its college basketball. Its never close to being consistent until January and this season there isnt a "Runaway" favorite to win it all. There is about 12 teams that have a legit shot at cutting the nets down in April. UNC beat a very good MSU team at home and a very good UL team. Yes, they lost to Belmont and UAB but that just goes to show you the inconsistency of teams early on. I know they lost but KU has looked most impressive to me thus far and Arizona a close second.
